didn't say that we couldn't be beneficial to plants, but while we're helping make sure that grass and other plants that we fancy survive, we're simultaneously killing off plants that we don't like (i.e. weeds etc.) Same goes for livestock... we kill animals that are dangerous to our livestock such as wolves. That was basically my point, that agriculture itself isn't very natural at all.

My point with the natural rant is about people that think natural means healthy... some synthetically produced things are more healthy than "naturally grown" counterparts. Just because something was grown without any sort of manipulation or intervention doesn't make it better for us.

the mayans have been making chocolate milk naturally for centuries... and i dig the natural stuff better than the chocolate syrup stuff. its just cocoa and milk, sugar for sweetness.

Raising livestock is completely irrelevant to the shooting of wolves or any animal. Not all farmers do this and it doesn't always create a problem. Anyhow, predator vs. prey. They were going to eat, just like we are. Why should we allow them to eat just because it's inferior. (Now, blasting them into instinction is again, a totally different issue..that would be an education issue more than anything)

However, you never addressed a fundamental point... Human's are a part of the natural world, thus making our actions and habits 'natural'. Raising animals, giving them as much food as they can eat, living a long healthy life, then it's slaughtered...pretty humane to me. This is how my family does it...(def not standard among commercial farming but I am speaking primitive and responsible farming.) It's way more human (and just as natural) for use to kill an animal instantly (by whatever means) and eat it than I lion to start chewing on it the zebra's ham while it's till alive and trashing around. Your idea of what is natural is completely off.

    examples?

Ofcourse dreads, tats and piercing are traditional lifestyles. The mayans often wore their hair in different knotty states that were basicly dreadlocks, the maoris and samoans almost always tatooed their faces and bodys, and many different cultures throughout the world have traditionally pierced different parts of their bodys for hundreds, if not thousands of years???

people who say in my opinion aggravate me.

Who else's opinion would it be?

In Lux's opinion dreads and tattoos are actually a way of expressing your love for fruit salad

I say IMO, because people get shit on on this forum if you don't. They say well you didn't say in your opinion or i think therefor you must be trying to spread it as fact.

Then again you get shit on for anything you say on this forum.

So Mat, you are trying to argue that dreads tats and piercings are a way of life? I don't have peircings or tats but I do have locks and I don't let my hair dictate what I do.

Also, trying to suggest modern mainstream tattooing is primitive is rather ignorant in my opinion of course ;) .

I think those who argue that dreads, tats, and piercings are not primitive are actually making my point, because they don't even associate those things with ancient cultures. There is some intrinsic motivation for us to get back to basics in our society, and I think that these are outward manifestations of that inner drive. Sub consciously, we're all preparing for 2012...
