camnden is a frikken nightmare dude, a true condemned zone. i been to most all of those cites, and alot of them on foot, i kinda agree withthe list and the order. although i never been to compton, i would imagine it would be higher from all the movies aobut how bad it is.
ATL is pretty rough, but it's a wonderful city, overall. But yeah, it's a rough place. The surrounding areas are pretty bad too, like College Park, Decatur, *Hapeville*, and Gainesville.
actually, Ive only been to two of those cities out of that list....... st louis and dallas...... IM still surprised kc isnt on there, though....... Im terrified of downtown... if all those cities are worse, I dont think I could ever venture to those places
I will say this with all due respect seeing as how you are a moderator. I don't think that Columbus is all that bad. The Jam Band Ekoostik Hookah originated there. They rock. Ohio State is there. Very cool college. They have the Columbus Crew. Very good soccer team. I'm not meaning to be rude, just stating my opinion.
Dayton is 17? bullshit. IF this is the 17th most dangerous place in usa, then our country is pussies. cinci is 20? bullshit. drive down vine st. in cinci and then drive down grand ave. in dayton and see which one scares you more. certainly not dayton. i wouldnt have a prob walking down crack central in dayton at 3AM All alone. but crack central in cincinatti scares me in daytime
I've been to most of those cities, but I guess I've never really been to any of the really bad parts. I've gotten lost driving through Atlanta a few times, at night, and that was pretty much scary as hell. It probably wouldn't have been so bad if I wasn't in a car with my county's plates. My county up until the late '80s had signs on every major road coming into the county "*n-word*, don't let the sun set on your back in Forsyth county". So there are parts of Atlanta that you just don't drive through under any circumstances. I'm surprised Miami isn't on there. Maybe I just went through the really bad parts of the city but over the summer, a friend and I took a wrong turn and ended up in a scary neighborhood and almost had our purses stolen by two 10 year olds. Not good..
Yeah. Forsyth county is suburbia land- full of rich WASPs in SUVs. The only good thing about it is that people of all colors, religions, and beliefs are starting to move in lately and the name of the main town is Cumming.
It was a pc move, DCs crime is bad yeah. But it was more of the fact that there was any noticeable amount of homicide and a bball team named the bullets. DC is fucking awesome man, just avoid SE mainly. All the cool bars (adams morgan, M street) are in NW which is relatively crime free. Thats also where all the museums, monuments, GW, American, and Georgetown universities are. Bmore is worse than DC, I don't give a fuck what that list says.
I've known a few people just mere blocks from VCU that had their apts broken into and ransacked continually. I helped a friend move into a studio on broad street and there were so many crack heads we had to lock the moving truck w/ every trip upstairs. I hated leaving her there.
That neighborhood is fucking awesome. The thing about bmore is you can be in a nice area, then go two blocks and its crack ghetto. If you grow up in that area you learn how to handle yourself to avoid situations and deal with them if they materialize. Which is probably why everyone thought I was some hardass fuck when I moved to florida.
LOL...I saw a bit like this on the news; I "supposedly" live in one of the top ten most dangerous cities...although, I will say, the murder rate keeps rising....
Detroit is pretty bad...I can see why it's 2nd on the list. I wouldn't go anywhere alone after dark. In fact, I was walking to the baseball stadium from one of the casinos in the middle of the day and took a wrong turn and I almost got mugged three times. It was pretty scary. Everyone is really poor because there aren't many jbos and the only way to make money is to sell drugs or steal shit and sell it. I lived in Flint for a year (#4) and I had never seen a dead body before and in my apartment building...just within a year...I seen two dead bodies get taken out of my building. Driving to work one day there was a guy sitting at a light hunched over his steering wheel. I pulled into a gas station and someone came in after me and said there was a bullet hole through his windshield. There is NO WAY you could pay me enough to be in the Beecher area of Flint or downtown...after dark...or alone during the day. *shudders* I live too close to a lot of those places...
