Oddly enough, I saw a preview on a DVD I just bought, for "Party Monster." It looks HORRIBLE! The clips of Macauley Culkin's acting SUCKED worse than any acting I have EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. I mean, I can't IMAGINE what director thought his delivery of his lines was anything close to acceptable.

I rented Ichi the Killer because I had read something about it that made it sound appealing, but it sucked pretty bad, too. The only interesting thing was the way the one guy had his cheeks split so he could open his mouth really wide, and he could puff cigarette smoke out the slits, which he kept closed with rings.

"The Pledge" (2000) from Sean Penn with Nicholson etc... is very very melancholic in the end it really hurt me really deep
"Apocalypse Now" (1977) is for sure disturbing
"Donie Darko" (2001) is a surrealistic gothic affair...very strange
"Jacob's ladder" (1991) is at the top of the psychedelic disturbin' bad trip
or in the same kind "Altered State" (1980) from cult director Ken Russell
or Obsession (1975) from Brian de Palma is a great disturbin movie too more in a Hitchcock style.

anyway i forgot a lot other disturbing movies...because the most part of the movie i like are disturbing...but if you like disturbing movie you've got often the best in the late 60s' and in all the 70s' ...in all decade there's good disturbin movies...but this era was the pick of those kind of movies

and on www.hightimes.com you can find the top 50 list of the best drug film of the last 40 years ...i give you this adress 'cause drug movie are always disturbin' if they are good movies...

I've seen Requiem for a dream and it was for sure a great film but no ...i think personnally that 30 or maybe 50 other movie in history are even more disturbin' than this one...even if Requiem for a Dream is a real disturbin movie ...

but for sure i put it for sure in the top 10 or 15 movies released in 2000 disturbin or not.

    Heavenly Creatures (1994)

Set in a small New Zealand town in 1952, this disturbing yet fascinating film is the story of two girls from different social backgrounds who become inseparable friends. The stronger their unique bond grows, the more reluctant they are to interact with the outside world, and they begin to invent an alternate reality for themselves from which everyone....

Oh and the Mothman Prophecies is VERRRRY Scary!!
in 28 days when the soldiers were goign to rape the 2 women, that disgusted me. Oh and some gory movie Wrong Turn.

a very rare film, which i bet no one can find..."salo, or the 120 days of sodom." it was a film by an italian director named paolo passolini...his mysterious death took place shorty after the film was released. it's adapted from the marquis de sade's work of a similar name...the 120 days of sodom. it's basically about officers of facist italy kidnapping several teenage boys and girls, imprisoning them, and having their way with all of them sexually and otherwise, then doing horrible, horrible things to them.

i couldn't finish watching it. i want to eventually finish watching and study it. it's an interesting work, but not at all for the faint of heart. i just don't think i'm ready to finish it.

oooh, also, the august underground's "mordum"...former students of tom saviny (the GENIUS behind the zombie make up in romero's zombie movies) made this disgustingly gross film about people being tortured, mutilated, and killed and having yucky, bloody things done to them. the effects were really good...accept you could tell the dismembered penis of this guy wasn't real because it was too small to be real...but it seemed real most of the time and it was nearly impossible for me to watch the whole thing...but i did. and i nearly vomited.

Oh man... I saw this film at a very f*ed up New Year's party 7-8 years ago. My friend put it on when we were all wasted, and a few of us had a very heated disscussion about what's art and what's just...well...f*ed up. I was mostly laughing at the whole thing, cuz it was so unbelievably bizarre to me at the time. What was this mysterious death about? I've been told Passolini was murdered by some religious nut, but I could be misinformed...

The most disturbing film I've seen since then, and which I have a clearer memory of, is Motel Hell. An old b-movie from 1980, about a motel owner who buries people up to their necks in the backyard, cuts their vocal cords so they can only make disturbing gurgling noises, and then feeds them until it's time to make delicious smoked meat out of them... Of course there are lots of "hilarious" things happening before it all comes down to a bloody finish, featuring a guy on the hunt with a chainsaw, wearing a pig's head on his face. More info can be found here.

    peace,
    -Pat
