ive been hearing a lot of good things about this new movie called the amityville...and then one day my sister told me to go watch it...this movie isnt scary...its surprising yes but...i like the older version better
Anything by Wes Anderson. The royal tenembaums was pretty good, but all his over work is just crap when you get down to it.
I think someone else has said it, but I'll say it again. Re-makes SUCK. Especially: Frankenstein (1994) Planet of the Apes (2001) Stepford Wives (2004) Point of No Return (1993) and that Nicolas Cage/Meg Ryan fiasco... City of Angels (1998)
The Blair Witch Project Any sequels except the Godfather Part II and Star Wars Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
2001 a space Odyssey: About as deep as my nephews paddling pool. (Daniel Aronovsky, 1998). With its story of a brilliant mathematician *psuedo intelectual arse numbing rubbish ahead* Well i hope some person had a deep and meaningful experiance with that pile of poo (i did not)..Another 'deep' film that is excruciaitingly dull. 1984..the book and the film. Take a look back at the 'real' 1984
Sorry, yeah, I forgot about that one. I think Alien: Resurrection was so bad, my brain had to blot out the whole quadrilogy. What a waste of great talent that was...
I would say the Ring as well. So incredibly overrated... I was pissed I spent 8.50 or however the hell much it costs to watch a movie now.
Titanic. It gave me a migraine headache. It did. The plot was saccarine and stupid. Adaptation was really disappointing to me. The ending was like it was just stuck on at the last day of filming to make it more interesting. There was NO motivation for what Streep's Character did. I really like Cage and I like Streep, but both my dh and I hated this movie. (Although I heard the book "The Orchid Theif" was a good book.) I like Silence of the Lambs. Go ahead and read the book, it will scare you. I also love Napoleon. True, honest, Indie classic. The Ring was predictable and made for girls in their early teens. My dd Moon thought it was the scariest movie ever. LOL. I walked out of the room in the first few moments of The Matrix. I HATE pretention. This was the most pretentious movie I have ever watched 1 and a half minutes of. Kill Bill STUNK! I hate movies that are made just for violence, sex, and to get people to see a sequel. I won't see the sequel.
Dr. Strangelove... people act as if was the funniest movie ever created. It was good, but I don't see how anyone can rank it as one of the top five movies of all time. Good but not that good.
I disagree. While the first Matrix is not the best movie ever, its power is definatly not in special effects. It's just quality science fiction, much like Neuromancer on which it's based. And I think that the most overrated movie ever is The English Patient. Biggest piece of crap I've ever seen. While the writing of Michael Ondaatje is half decent for modern Canadian fiction, the movie was boring, pointless and just plain stupid. It had no artistic power, no message, no engaging plot, no strong characters... It wasn't even romantic. It was just crap.
i dont get all the hype about the matrix...i watched the first one...then i tried watching the second one, i fell asleep, BORING...next! there are so many others
Coffee and Cigarettes was too boring to stay awake. I wish I'd understand why people make this kind crap. And even more scary, why people pay money to see it. I asked my money back WITH INTEREST. Didn't get it though.
The think 2nd and 3rd were close to awful. I really enjoyed the 1st although it became played out over time. The quality of the 1st IMO was it's nice incorporation of philosophy, sci-fi and action.
texas chainsaw massacre (2004) first of all, i nearly pee my pants when i see something mildly scary like the ring. and this movie made me laugh, i mean why would you chase someone around with a chainsaw? there are much more proficient ways of killing stranded travelers. the only good part was jessica biel...give me a moment... damn, she's hot. terrible actress though, terrible movie.
Blair Witch Project. I liked Napoleon Dynamite, I went to school w/ a kid like him, which makes it even funnier.
