the bourne supremacy and identity i thought were waaaaaaaaayyy better then the books. although if you read the books first you get the story line more.
I thought Dr. Zhivago was better than the book... but the book is extremely difficult (at least it was to 7th grade me... don't ask me WHY I was reading that book at such a young age). I liked the movie better because it made the plot make sense in a more visual way. Of course, if I had known anything about the Bolshevik Revolution when I read the book, I might have a different opinion.
I rarely watch movies -I don't own a television and the only movies I've seen in the theater in the past decade are the Harry Potter movies- but recently I got a DVD player.. since I did want to watch some. I watched Saving Private Ryan, which I really wanted to see since reading the book for the first time years ago, and while I was impressed by the imagery I still like the book better. Movies seem to go too quickly, they skip over a lot and they can't show as well what people think... I like the detail in books. Or is it just that I'm not used to movies anymore after so long without?
2001 - a space odysey . The film is miles better than the book (not sure if the book was actually written after the film).
Walkabout.I have not read the book. There are few minor faults with the film but the photgraphy, scenery and music are mesmerising something that could never be done on the printed page. :sunglasse
ehh! no, the book is alway better, from Stephen Kings Misery to Harry Potter! Although I would say I did love The first Lord Of the Rings film, but the book is still much better!
I will always have to say that books are better than movies....Because what you see is not necessarily what the director sees and then you're disappointed. Holly
