Watched this movie again for nostalgic purposes. I haven't seen the animated Robin Hood movie since 1st grade. Man, the frame-by-frame animation of this 1973 film was beautiful. Ever since the late 90s, cartoons have gotten to be very lifeless with computer assisted animation. The illustrators have gotten lazy, and let the computer do all the work for them. What a shame
I watched this gem of the 80s the other day.. If you didn't know, Japanese cartoons are famous for the animations. Probably just the drawing, but there may be something frame by frame as well. I recommend this one if you haven't watched anime before.
Renegade (Blueberry). Probably the 5th time I've watched it. It's a good movie to watch while snacking, after yard work and pressure washing the back porch
Does that movie have an Ayahuasca trip scene? I've seen a trippy scene that I believe was lifted from that movie often paired with psychedelic music or lectures.
I've always assumed ayahuasca was involved. Actually there are a few scenes in which a hallucinogenic substance is ingested. I think some kind of psychotria is visible (I never looked closely enough to be sure, but I assumed it is), and peyote (maybe a trichocereus too . After my first viewing, I've focused more on the actions taken) .
I'm a western freak and also was really into psychedelics when I saw and bought this movie. Now, I still appreciate a good visualised psych trip in a movie but that's not why I still love this one. I love it for the western aspects. Really dig this movie (and the cartoons it is based on). Blueberry freaking rocks!
I think the western aspects are reason it appeals to me so much too. I've not taken a psychedelic (yet), but I read a lot about them. When I first heard about the movie (suggested movie on Amazon), I did a web search, and found references to the cartoons, but I haven't seen any of those. I think I'll try to find them.
I watch this movie at the same time every couple of years - July 1, 1863 was the first day of the battle
I haven't watched it yet, but I'm seeing the new Annabelle movie in a few hours. I expect it to be pretty ordinary but the movies is always louder and it's not what is on the screen that scares me it is the loudness behind it. I swear.
