Fair play, I was grossly over-simplifying. Fife still has a few CP members on the council I think... I just dislike the notion that Scotland is, as a nation more left than England, when so much of England has a similar militant history.
my scott friend took me to a scottish bar---couldnt understand half of what they were saying--lol---but that bar had alot of american (scottish groupies) if your a girl the guys would dig you--you have an accent that turns them on---cant comment on the lassies
Thanks everyone Also, maybe I will fit in more since I already have a Scottish last name... I would love to be as far north as I can get. I already live in a cold, wet climate so I think I would feel good there and from pictures the scenery looks wonderful. And I can not get enough of that highland accent!
Don't go north, unless its just a short visit (a week at most...). North of the central belt, there isnt much....
When you say there "isn't much" what exactly are you referring too. If you mean there aren't many cities, many people or many so called entertainments, than that is exactly what I am looking for. I want to be close to places where there is nothing but nature... preferably somewhere where it rains all the time.
I don't know. I'm sure you know this better than me, actually being Scottish. However, I think that posh edinburgh tories are a minority group really. As for Northern England, thinking it over, you're right, all of my Northern relatives have really strong socialist ideals.
Theres plenty tartan tories around, likes. A lot of your SNP folks are pretty right wing. Also, Edinburgh is the second biggest financial centre in Europe, behind London and ahead of the likes of Frankfurt. In terms of the scenery, sure its beautiful, so visit and appreciate. But bloody hell, theres no hhuman interaction, you'd go mad!
Oh scotland. I'd love to move to scotland. Well if they are anything like they are in Belfast,Ireland - they will love your accent. :O :O An American!!
Glasgow is very similar to Belfast, with the troubles an all... Half of belfast would point out that its actually Northern Ireland
heh, I know. I was born in Belfast, baptized in Down Patrick (hour north of it). Ever heard of Gerry Fitt? He was my uncle. I know about the troubles that surround those crazy cities.
What about the far west of Scotland? I'd love to go there sometimes, outer and inner Hebrides :cheers2: Seem to be some very early monasteries there as well, hehe, just seems very cool to me those monks went there already in those early medieval days and built those kind of gothic buildings in that remote places Yeah, castle-watching and whiskeytasting and of course walking my ass of in one of the most fabulous kind of landscapes I've ever seen! I probably could live there as well, but I'm not sure hehe
