Ah well, I can see where you're coming from and I can see how it makes sense to you, but in my perception of music listening it doesn't at all :p
You mean you look for new music by checking for example ten year old albums that people still talk about?

music is a taste and differs from a person to another, so its not because its
been played for at least ten years its good.

i personally listen to remembering never, despised icon , misery signals , carnifex, whitechapel , etc...

    So true.

I love stuff like rush, pink floyd, Focus, zep, hendrix and practically any jazz

And some heavier stuff like carcass, morbid angel, maiden and a bit of metallica

Everything that isn't one of these is realxing music, Marley, any classical. + drum and bass infused proggy stuff, 65 days of static, russian circles, explosions in the sky.

I like mainly metal, my favourite bands are sepultura, soulfly, black label society, metallica, hatebreed. And I also like other stuff across a broad range, from singer songwriters like jeff buckley, newton faulkner and seasick steve lol, to the offspring and the ataris, to a certain mr marley :). As I play guitar I just like anything guitar driven really. I listen to BBC radio 1 most of the time during the day too and its bareable :).
