man, you people need to understand that my chemical romance are not trying to be punk... they're screamo (a type of emo)... get that through youre heads, if you don't like emo, fine whatever, but understand that they are not punk or trying to be punk.... jeez why don't you "real" punks go argue over politics or something.
..shame... your insecurities drive you to waste your time trashing bands like my chemical romance.... real original.... woop dee doo, there's a new band that came out, let's go trash it so we can feel better about our useless lives... pathetic.....
No. EDIT: And just incase you got confused and thought that statement was about MCR then you're mistaken.
no i knew you were talkin about bright eyes.. i guess they have bits of emo and country in them.. but they're wayy more indie/folk-y..
Hahaha this thread is hilarious... first we have people worshipping MCR... than someone calls Bright Eyes country... and if that isnt funny enough, some guy named Disturbed comes in an starts talking shit... and he calls MCR screamo too!!! than someone talks shit about the bled... Oh man, im bout to fall off my chair. BE isnt close to country at ALL, they are folk... but I guess I cant blame you for thinking folk is country... and MCR isnt screamo either... go around saying MCR is screamo in front of a bunch of sceners and prepared to get your ass kicked. Im tired of arguing music with a bunch of 14-16 y/o kids who worship corporate bullshit bands that play on MTV. eventually you will grow out of it... its much like how women grow out of bands like N Sync and britney spears when they actually find out just how retarded those bands are. And im not a 'she'.
When I went to the Taste Of Chaos Tour in Milwaukee, I spent all the time while MCR was playing down where they were selling merchandice. I would have left if it wasn't freezing and I didn't have a ride for another hour and a half. I can't stand either of them (MCR or the Used), personally. And during taht time in the merchandice area I spent $40 I really shoudln't have. I really only went to see Killswitch Engage and a couple bands that aren't as well known. It was really sad though, while The Used was playinc (ICK!) I was down in the "acoustic room" (basically the room where the lesser known bands play) and my friends and I were the ONLY people listening to them! 5 other people wandered in after awhile, but for awhile we were the ONLY ones in there - and they were pretty damn good, good hard rock! I felt so bad... a grand total of 5 people (my friends and I) stayed for the ENTIRE show. The lead singer was like "I FUCKING LOVE ALL *counts heads* 5 OF YOU!!!!!!!" and we're on the rail cheering... hehe it was kinda fun, but still sad taht just becuase The Used was playing upstairs they only snagged 5 people to see their show But man... I never realized how much this whiney emo had taken over the music world here... I think my friends and I were the only people in the entire building without those stupid looking emo haircuts that have about 18 different lengths and have a black base with blonde highlights... yuck... I was trying to find someone I knew who had a haircut like that and I musta went up to 20 people thinking it was her. I'm glad I oculd pick my other friends outta the crowd when I wanted too. Christ... Overall was a fun tour though, met some cool people and saw some good bands. Sorry for ramblings, and sorry if I'm sounding like everyone else, but I haven't had time to read through all the posts. Has anyone else been on the Taste Of Chaos?
scene kids piss me off sometimes too... long hair tends to do the trick in any show... can get along with anyone... w hether its a metal show, hardcore, folk, emo, people just think you are there to rock... instead of fit into some scene. scene kids actually admire people that go against the scene... which kind of doesnt make sense
Totally agreed. I got talkin with a lead signer from a lesser known band and he told me that he was glad he saw someone being themself instead of trying to look like everyone else. He liked my hair (which is long, dark red and straight) and my Grateful Dead Tshirt... Haha wore that to the tour I think to go against everyone else if nothing else. And then the guy gave me a free cd, which was cool... was a sucky CD though but he was a nice guy... And the guy at the jewelry booth gave me a discount on a little glass piece becuase I wasn't an emo kid... haha... it was so cool
yeah me and my friends went to a bb show and there was a bunch of scenekids... but they video taped us cuz we were different, my friend had a mullet... they drew handlebars on em and stuff... and gave us beer.. being unscenic definitely has its advantages.
