my do dog is driving me nuts

My dog is very affectionate and she loves being around us, but I wouldn't say she's needy. She runs around in the garden and plays by herself very happily but she also loves to just sit on your lap and have you cuddle her.. she doesn't realize that she's entirely too big to be a lap dog Anyhow.. I know I'm biased but my dog is just awesome, she's so gentle and loving and well-behaved. And funny and playful. Aww I have to go find her now and give her cuddles and doggy crack (aka pork scratchings ).

 

My dog licks her legs when I leave her alone or give attention to one of the other dogs in the house. She causes sores and drives me insane. I had to buy one of those cone things to put around her neck so she can't lick. I call it her time out cone. She hates it but it works.

 

I love both of my dogs, but man they have issues. The basset hound jumps on me and howls when I am doing anything that is not involving him. During the day, I just put him outside, but at night, I can't because fo the howling.
I could not get a thing done yesterday.
I try to sew a lot of new items to list ont he first (most people's pay day) and they literally wouldn't let me get anything done. They howled at any room I went in.
Usually with their neediness, I give them some hugs, wash their faces and give them a treat and their good to go for a couple hours.
But they were so bad last night, I thought there was going to be an earth quake or something.
PS-Does anyone have a hairless cat or know someone who does?
