I love potatoes too! They have a lot of minerals in them. We love mixing potatoes with olives, lemon juice and greek seasoning and baking them. They turn out so yummy. I am so hungry now lol.
The best trick to losing weight, is water water water. Just fill up on water instead of those snacky things. And buy or make only healthy snacks. I have plain kernels to make popcorn whenever I get into a need to munch something crunchy. For sweets, make up your own fruit cocktails or pudding. MAN! Pudding & jello is like $0.60 a box to make and you can do all kinds of neat recipes and low calorie & fat recipes to make desserts that work for you. And lastly, take your dog for a walk. Walk to the store and back 3 times intentionally to get milk, eggs, and sugar in an hour. Park your car in the spot furthest away from the door. Keeping an active mind about your daily physical needs is important - and it's easy to justify an active day with an unhealthy meal. So try and keep it in mind that your reward isn't by eating something unhealthy, it's in doing what's right for yourself.
I work out everyday, running is bad for my knees. So my best friend is the elliptical. Portion control too. Because I'd be an obese short person if I didn't do that.
