My ear stretching journey is almost over

I'm pretty clueless about stretching ears out, I really wanna do it but wonder how I should begin? My ex had his ears punched out and I guess its hella painful. I just want my holes big enough to put some small tourmaline or aquamarine crystals through.... My ears are pierced right now but I hardly EVER where earrings, when I do they get all irritated... Well any help would be appreciated~ piece

 

please stretch them...i never understood why people just punched the skin out of their ears. if you choose to take out your jewelry somewhere along the line, it's going to be much more difficult for the holes to close if you punched them out opposed to stretching them.

you probably have an 18 or a 20 in your ears now, just play by the rules and you'll be fine. on the smaller end of the spectrum you can skip a size or so if you want, but some peoples' ears are more sensitive than others. make sure you're giving your ears adequate time to heal (2 - 3 weeks) between stretches. so you'd go from 18 to 16, 16 to 14, 14 to 12, et cetera; keep on going until you're satisfied.

tapers are best and make things easiest. those are the weird looking ones that kind of look like little stakes. the pointed end makes the stretch and insertion go much more smoothly (as opposed to plugs or rings); i always would pop them in after i got out of the shower.

ps - stainless steel is your friend. a lot of people have bad reactions to jewelry with nickel in them, so that may be the source of your problem.

gah the way you guys measure ears confuses me in england we do it by mm's :/ im currently at 24mm goin to 26 in a week or so i personally dont think of it in a spiritual way just another form of body modification in my eyes :/

 

I just took out my 7/16's to let my ears start healing up. It took me about a year to stretch that far. I just decided its not for me anymore. I liked the way they looked but I dunno, I just suddenly decided I really didn't like them. Its been about 6 days and I can barely fit the head of a Q-tip in them to clean them, kind of surprising actually. Besides, I always got paranoid about them when getting into fights, they make you really vulnerable.

Yes, he is rude, and yes he is raining on your parade, but I have to agree with him.

It's great that you are taking this in a special way, and congrats on your accomplishment.

All Hallows is taking the big picture of the ordeal and is just pointing out the irony in the entire situation.

His point being much similar to the people that parade the fact that they do community service or help the homeless. Acts of charity shouldn't be put on a pedestal, because acts of charity imply a selflessness that is lost if you are only using it to make yourself feel better than others.
