ok so more bout this topping do i jus wait til harvest time n top or top the colas a bit early?

 

When they are ready harvest them. So take the top 1/3 - 1/4 depending on the size of the plant and follow the remainder. They won't put on alot of weight but do fatten up.

NH's (<- finally shortened it ) advice on "stripping" the plant before flowering is a good one btw. Say you have a 5' girl going in you should really remove the bottom 2-2.5' feet of vegatation as it will help develop the upper buds (on say a 400w hps). The first few harvests trimming the lil popcorn buds is fine but after a while they are a pain and just a time killer.

hello there hip n all its followers went 2 visit last night n was well pretty shocked by wot i saw on one hand i was very happy on the other i was pretty upset my cheese had got so heavy that it had toppled over!!! n the unknowns leaves had shriveled at the top so i had a bit of a rant at the keeper n asked y they hadnt rang me but they didnt give me much of a response so i got over it quickly n set about work 2 sort it out the cheese i tied up so all branches r supported which is mighty frosty i might add i got a half decent pic so hopes u can all see it n as i was talkin bout this chopping the top half business with budbill n naturalhi i thought f**k it y not so the top half of my unknown got the chop an brought down 2 the level of the cheese which isnt that bad as now ive moved the light down n they can both soak up the sun as greedily as they wantthey hav been on jus water 4 a week now only ph'd no more feed thought id try n clean them out b4 they get the big chopperoo! the tops i cut off are snug in a paperbag burped once a day 4 a week then they'll get the jar 4 a few weeks not sure how long yet

Very nice my man!! Other than a lil nute burn or lockout on the tops of the one girl they look tasty!! Be sure to save all your trim.

thanks man thanks alot i cant wait 2 smoke it is that wot u recon it is i thought it was 2 much food n 2 be honest that one has been a pain in the ring all the way through lol but not 2 worry is half the reason i gave her a trim so i could bring the light back down 2 the cheese ive got high hopes 4 that lil beauty man her heads r heavy n sticky 2 boot the unknown is unstable 2 say the least but will look foward 2 havin a good old smoke on her n writing a review lol that also will be my first

 

It does appear to have been fed a bit too much but she survived and that is what counts. Light burn looks a little different. Be sure to write down the # of weeks they took to ripen for next time. Once you get in the habit of cloning you will be able to almost set your watch for harvest time (almost)

The learning curve is priceless. In theory, pop a seed in the soil and wait but in practice you have learned that there is a bit more to it.

As you encounter more strains and regrow the old ones you will learn that they are all different enough to make for an enjoyable hobby.

And Amen Temp, I've had plants that overfed when I was in training too. Looked about the same, as long as we learn from our experiences we all get better!>P

 

thnaks 4 the advice naturalhi,budbill i wanna get a mother plant goin n clone but has been a bit hit n miss with ye ol grow since i started with moves n such but hopes next crop im gonna hav sum hashberry n take clones of all n if i like choose the best 4 yeild n taste n carry on with that 4 a while then throw sum other strains in n if i get a male maybe get sum pollination going would be cool 2 see the whole way through n make a hybrid strain lol still a bit of a pipe dream tho

 

Hey temp!

First let me say they are coming along great! And obviously frosty!! Now about the mother plants and cloning, i've finally just started to dabble in cloning and have had about a 90% success rate in rooting them!!! But for some dang reason i can't keep a mother plant healthy. So what i have been doing is just cloning from the clones. So i basically took 2 clones from each plant and threw the plants into the 12/12 cab to start flowering. Then let the clones root in a seperate area. As soon as these clones have enough side branching, ill pull clones from them and throw those rooted clones into the 12/12 cab. And just sticking with that cycle. Many people do it this way and then on the plus side you don't have to have a big area for keeping moms. Just a thought.

As for the seed breeding. I recommend trying it atleast once. Its a great experience in this hobby! I've only done it once but got 100's of healthy seeds from it! I harvested em' a tad bit early but i've finally got 2 females going!! It's really cool to look at them and know that i made the seed they came from!!

Anywho, just had to stop in and give ya the green thumbs up!! Keep up the good work!

thanks 4 stoppin in sr20steez hows it goin? 2 be honest mate ive only ever grown with hps i quite like does the job 4 me i harvested on friday they wer more than ready i think b4 i get the next crop on im gonna make a few improvements 2 my garden paint the walls etc an i think im goin 2 set up a reservoir so wen i do go round i can jus sort the water out then myself an the keepers wont hav 2 worry bout it eather ive been lookin into mandala seeds n i like the sound of them im gonna buy a few packs Kalichakra,White Satin,Sadhu and Hashberry i like the sound of them n there not 2 damageing 2 the pockets lol i also wanna set up a mother plant hopefully try n keep a couple going in a separate space i recon ill hav it here tho but well keep that between u an me! ive been smoking the unknown a couple of days ago and its an average smoke its smooth 2 smoke and is a lighter high very much a chilled out head buzz but not 2 overpowering the buds r quite light n airy 2 overall id give it a 6 outa ten im lookin foward 2 smoking the cheese and i will give a lil report the buds are pretty dence we got 124g but its still wet so expect that figure 2 drop considerably but no worrys good enough 4 me its my best yield yet ill post a couple of pics i took b4 the chop 2morrow i would do it 2day but im really tired i went mountain biking in the forest 2day which was excellent i might add ive been getting into this mountain biking lark jus lately n its pretty good the stuff were riding at the mo is pretty tame but soon were gonna go hunt out some better trails more downhill well ill see u all soon pepes green thumbs 2 all!!

 

well i took my weed from paper bag 2 jar 2day n well i thought id throw it on the scales an its droped 2 17.9 g from 62g thats quite alot of weight even if it is dead weight wot id like 2 kno is how on these seed sites can they say u get a 300g yield wen dry does any1 hav any idea how 2 reach these unattainable yields or r they jus a myth 2 lure u in?
