Ah ok, good to hear. The main focus in the media hear was on the G8 and Live8 in London and as far as I know all the main artists there were non-African. Hehe.. would be ridiculous if there were no African artists in Johannesburg.. hehe

Good point.. but you have to see it the other way 'round as well. There is no governmental social care for the elderly so children are an investment. Especially in countries where the deathrate amongst children is high, there is a great need of having more children, so at least a few will live long enough to take care of you when you get old/sick.

Also I think it's a different cultural approach. Even in my country, I live in a mostly black (surinam) neighbourhood and you see a lot of young moms here, which really shocked me at first. While talking about it to African friends though, they started laughing at me because they feel like Dutch women are known for getting kids at a late age. They see it completely different.. according to them you don't 'choose' to have kids.. it just happens. It's a natural way.. and planning according to your bank account etc seems unnatural to them, although they really understand why it would be better to pay attention to stuff like that. I feel like I'm used to think of the future more than they do.. they live more day by day in a way.. more easy going and in a way.. I dunno. As long as there is food on the table, everything's ok. Think it's a cultural thing really.. when it comes to Africans at least.. and it seems to be a bit the same for the Surinam people here.

There are musicians like that, system of a down for example, but live8 was for middle of the road artists, generally speaking there were a few exeptions so they couldn't be contreversial.

Imho it is not because they use sex to keep them happy. I think it is a very male orientated society and women are expected to have children (as many as possible..) In a way so at least some survive into adulthod.. i think religeon / male ego (none use of condoms) is a big factor also.. if only it was because they are bored.

We had a none 'white' gig over here as well..

    No... FNA said

Any nation in Africa I'm sure has multiple times the population of Canada. I even question whether I'll have children cause of world over-population, and I WOULD be able to support a child, and they would have a good life here.

I did not wish to put words in that persons mouth.. but i thought 'bored' summed it up.

    I meant:
if only it was because they are bored..and not the other things i suggested, imho being the root cause for so many babies being born in Africa.
