my sisters friend is being beaten-up - what to do

Again, we established this a long time ago. I totally agree but don't discourage people from calling the cops just because you have had bad experiences with them. I have seen them do great things.

 

My argument is to leave it up to the girl. Cops can't do anything unless she wants them to.....so leave it up to the girl.

 

Again, agreed. Said you were right about that. Never assumed otherwise, in fact its totally not worth mentioning because it is so obvious. If she does want them to...they can do something...thats what matters.

 

I know they can. Sorry I got irritated with the people telling Penny to call the cops, and acting like I wanted the girl to get hit again.

 

I think you should see what happens, let her calm down for the night, and ask her tomorrow if she wants you to call the cops or not.
I don`t know if it`s happened before, but if it has, than I`d say most definitely call them before it gets worse, and keep her there for a while.
If not, I think you should see what she says, maybe try talking to the dad again, and calmly threaten to call the cops to them...

 

Okay guys thanks for the advice! Right now she's safe with us - she's 15 btw I forget who asked.. I'm just so confused.. but hopefully things will be clearer tomorrow..

 

So my mom took her home today. Her mom is crazy - she told her she was punished, and that she needed to apologize to her father! Then since the mom kept denying her dad hit her, she answered her mom in front of mine "you know very well he did" - and the mom just blushed. My mom told her today she needed to tell someone if if touched her again - and she will.

It's really sad how the the mom just is in denial - she told my mom she was scared - but seriously how can she defend her husband? My sister's friend told my mom she suspects her mom is afraid to lose him AGAIN - cause apparently he left her for like a month one time - she's ultra-dependant on him - no matter how horrible he is..

There's a center for beaten women and kids in the city - we told her to call them - and she promised to call us if anything with her dad tonight..
