No. I know one person's meaning of "special friend" but I wasn't sure if that was a universal thing or if it was just HIS term. But anyway, according to that guy "special friend" is basically a lover or "friend with benefits" outside of the marriage relationship, usually the marriage is an open one so the spouse knows about the person. Is that what is meant here? In other words, is this universal knowledge?

He does look like a cool guy. Out of curiosity, what would happen if you brought up the idea of an open marriage with hubby, do you think? I ask because if he's the kinda guy who would agree to something like that, you'd be a lot better off because there's no risk of him finding out and the whole thing ripping your family apart when he does, if he's like most men. He'd already know, you'd be free to seek your needs elsewhere, and who knows, maybe he'd feel competitive and get things into gear?

And btw for those wondering no I'm not condoning open marriages but I still think it's a much better option than secrecy, that's all. If I had a choice between hubby cheating on me or having an open marriage, I wouldn't like either option but I'd definitely choose the open marriage. At least I'd know what was going on.
