i don't make pesto, but my wife does when it's time for the basil plant to go bye-bye. then we replace it with usually a hydroponically grown one from the store. just keep it in water til we use it. i really like the basil leaves fresh on a sandwich. think i'll do that today...
dude it's the dopest. Every time I make anything, I grab some basil leaves from the plant. In a sandwich? fuck yeah! In my eggs? OF course! In my sauce? Why not. On my pasta. Boom! basil is the bees knees
Do it up! I like the idea of being able to self sustainably eat mushrooms and cactus and pesto all day all night. Trip balls. Eat delicious pasta.
I'd love to live in south africa. Maybe if I'm travelling and I have an opportunity, I'll hit you up.
I was first thinking, THE FUCK does this have to do with synthetic drugs? but then I saw you posted it and then I saw the picture and said ooooooh pretty, I love bamboo I have a small bamboo plant. we sell ones like yours at work. Used to have a bunch in the backyard that created a little hut, but my parents got rid of it occasionally you can still step on some
Definitely! doors are open! I'll provide the trips, but you gotta provide the pasta. I'll have some basil hopefully too And lol sunshine.. I thought the exact same. Wonder if you can grow basil like that....
i love the idea of growing your own mushrooms, cacti, (and cannabis) as well! though i have experience with none. my wife is making something with pesto tonight - i saw the bag of it defrosting.
Yeah I've tried mushrooms and cacti -- but my cacti sometimes die and my mushrooms sometimes get infected. Neither of them are super easy things to grow. Pot, on the other hand, is not at all difficult to grow. And lucky you!! We keep ours in frozen bags too. You should definitely try growing cactus though. It takes the least investment of time and money of the three. I mean it's mostly just a waiting game. They take a long time to grow, but little work is required. The faster you get started, the faster you'll have a big, healthy mother cactus with many babies: something you could eat from once or twice a year -- that's my ultimate goal.
around me? i've thought about it in the past and sort of continuously. maybe i need to look into the cactus thing again. funny what you said though, hedge, i've always heard that mushrooms are easier to grow than (good) weed. i work in a lab, so i've got sterile technique down! and access to an autoclave my wife's not really down with me growing mushrooms though haha. a cactus she would probably tolerate.
Well I had a peruvian torch, but my mom let it die while I was away working during the summer I'm probably going to grow some lophophora williamsi soon and maybe another peruvian. Shit dude what kind of a lab do you work in? I've always wanted to work in a lab and I'm going to try to do it next summer (intern or something)
