Oh, and I love my first name and have no second one (get people to believe that - they all think you're a liar). I like both of the last names I've had, because they both had r's and a's and that seemed to go good with Tara.

Really don't like my given name; it was an impulsive choice of my parents and doesn't suit me at all. It also has amazing potential for stupid nicknames. My middle name Clair isn't so bad, just a bit bland and overused. Neat spelling even if it did confuse the heck out of me for at least ten years.

I have a major interest/obsession with names. So it was natural for to work on my own. After some deliberation I ended up with.....
Sage Cerridwen Phoenix
Sage as in the herb or a prophet/ess. Found it on a hippy name site, it just felt right. I like the fact it's unisex; neithier boyish or frilly. Neat simple name, and no nicknames (dumb or otherwise)
Cerridwen after a Welsh Goddess, I'm partly Welsh and very pagan, so it works. Kind of wanted a C name, found some info about the goddess and felt very drawn to her. The name has a certain flowing elegance, nice contrast to Sage.
Phoenix is my second middle name, don't use it much though (not in the habit yet) there's a complicated story behind it, involving the symbolism and such. So it's very meaningful.

Obviously I love it, having chosen it myself. Have sort of considered other names but nothing else fits quite right. It even works out perfectly with numerology, which is a total fluke.

I don't really use my given name offline. Missed the chance to make that leap, but am giving it very serious consideration. I'm sure that some people (like my Grandparents) will never use it, but I can live with that.

 

Well, I was serious about the guess, because he hinted you couldn't rhyme with it and Maynard came to mind. Now, I think probably picked it out of your brain because you posted above me. Do you know of a word that rhymes with Maynard? Hey, Chuck, is this it?

There's some kid at school, his name is woody johnson. his middle name is willie. iit cracks me up everytime i hear it!

my name could have been a lot better. my dad wanted to name me sugaree at some point and my mom wanted to name me sunny. So i end up with Gabriella, a name with immense potential for crappy nicknames ( see: Gabby, Ella, hey you with the hair)

My middle name sucks worse, as it completely unsuits me ( yes i made up a word).
And my last name is so long, almost every standardized test i ever took i wound up being cut off by like 3 letters. Thanks mom and Dad!

 

Marisa Victoria is ok, I suppose. But I think I'd like to change Marisa to something more interesting....like Chryseis (from the Iliad).

i might change my name, i don't mean to sound like i'm looking for attention but it would probably be a good way to distance myself from the (infrequent but affecting) bad moments of my childhood

 

With a stretch of the imagination, you could maybe rhyme Francis with Kansas.

 

My first name is Emma, my middle name is Elizabeth. I'm the oldest and my parents got steadily more inventive as they had more kids. My five-year-old sister is Imogen Alexandra.

 

I'm Brandon James Istenes. My last name is Hungarian for "godly", so it's cool, I would never even think about changing it. My middle name is my dad and his dad's name (actually, my grandpa's name is Imre, but that's pretty much the Hungarian equivilant to James. My first name is one of the most common names around, but oh well. What's that great quote of jailmates? Something like, "ya, say a picture is a thousand words, I am not a picture, I am unique, not a freak, a natural wonder from space"

 

My name in full is Bart Rudolf Romeijn. As you can see, it plainly owns. If I get kids I'll name them all after me. The girls too. Go ahead and change your name to match mine too if you want. I know you do.
