right now it is very pointless. we are wasting all of this money for missions that keep getting set back. we keep learning from them though

Actually they make many contributions, like was pointed out by another, that don't make any kind of headlines..
There is so much government waste and mispent money. I don't feel that NASA is a waste. Lets start with the war on drugs, the whole penal system, this war...

Sad that all that money goes to (IMHO) a bad movie but NASA has to fight to get any. The moon was rather stupid, but at that time it was also that fact that they could land and take back off another place. Where else would they try that first back then? Anyone realize the leapsand bounds technology has made since then? Do you think they would have made many of those if there had been no NASA? There would have been no reason or way to make many of them.

Hasn't anybody ever considered that there may be valuable minerals on moons and different planets, as well as the marketing of technology? Anyone learned that the government couldn't give a rat's ass about you, unless they're making a profit at the same time, off of you? Atop that, the government doesn't seem to do things unless they're killing two or more birds with one stone... and it usually involves making a profit, at the same time.

Why explore the universe when they have yet to know everything about the ocean. Yes, maybe the rest of the universe will hold clues, but there's always a possibility that the above things are in involved and are what they have had in mind ever since the sixties. If they do know that there are prcious minerals or something for a profitable benefit, to them, I don't think they'd just go and spend billions of dollars for nothing. That's why they were so against communism and Russia and that was the whole deal with the space race.

Besides, all of the above seems to prove that a superpower is too dangerous and powerful for their own damn good. It's much worse than having a dictatorship. They don't give a fuck about religion... besides, what is religion but just a mutated form of philosophy, forcing people to act a certain way, follow a certain way of life, hang out with certain people, kill certain people (Isn't it ironic that brainwashing is almost the same thing?)... Religion may have been different wayyyyy back, but now, it's business as usual. When you had hitler, mussolini, and stalin, they'd come right out and say it. These pricks will do it behind your back and force their goals on you by way of social pressure... freemasons, community leaders, etc.

Why spend money pokin around other planets when our own is dyin?

NASA think they know a lot more than they actually do. Space will never be completely understood and so why dont they give their money to the starving millions?

NASA has no aims of world domination. They are a space exploration and research group. Hense the name National Airanotics and Space Administration. They money comes from the USAF budget, so you should want NASA to stay around or the USAF would get more money. Something people here would hate.
