You Clearly Haven't Seen Mine..(2months).... If I'm Walking Down The Street On "Council Clean Up Day", When People Are Encouraged To Place Rubbish Which Is Too Big To Fit In Their Bin On The Sidewalk, I Walk Real Fast, And The Sound Of A Council Truck Approaching, Makes Me Break Out In A Cold Sweat.... Yeah, I know what you are saying. I definitely did my research and really thought a lot about whether or not I really wanted to have them and whether I would have the patience. I think a lot of people do just rush into it and then change their minds when it isn't instant. It's good for me because I am really impatient and so this whole process is teaching me patience... so that is good Of course it helps that I work out in the woods so nobody but my boyfriend sees me anyway!
i didn't even read the rest of the thread. just don't worry about dreads. try a trendy 'do like some braids or a mohawk. maybe even cut your hair like anakin skywalker. that would be rad. also, i hear mullets are coming back in style :cheers2:
I towel dry my hair, i think this helps em lock up cuz when you rub the towel all over it tends to knot up your hair.. at least i think? And to the other dude, yeah i know im the exception, idk if i said it or not but id say average, one year to start resembling dreadlocks. maybe more, maybe less, ya never know til ya try!!
i was the same way. i wanted my hair to be dreads now. i have to be honest, i went neglect, the time flies by. i am going on 7 months now. i was not going to go with this method until like you i found a guy on youtube that had dreads that i wanted. his are 2.5 years old. i sent him a message and he said all he did was wash his hair twice a week. so that is what made me decide to go neglect. i have keep a timeline for people that was like me, not sure what to expect. if you like here is the timeline, but i also learned that everyones hair dreads different and at different speeds. http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=358787&f=209
hmmm, it must be different for non-kinky hair.. towel drying just messed my hair all up.. letting it drip dry was the way to go for me.. oh well, different strokes :cheers2:
I Just Pat Out The Excess Water, Flick It Back And Forth, Then Sideways, Like A Dawg Does, Then Let It Air Dry... Cheers Glen.
aye.... one sad day on my last set of dreads was the day i discovered they were too long to shake like mad in the shower anymore.... they just smacked all along the curtain and the wall. how was i supposed to dry them? must i go outside so i dont shake all over the bathroom? i found the answer was to just shake out over my roomates bed bwahahahaha that'll teach him not to bail on the cable bill next time because "i watched more tv then him"
Bicyclejoe you can get dreads like that by wool rubbing, i mean the dude in that video looks like he just either went natty or just rubbed it and left it aloane
Ok, thank you! How does that work? after i wool rub my hair, do i seperate it into small dreads? or does it do that by itself?
