Yeah, if your new to smoking, you should not buy top shelf strains at a dispensary. Dispensaries usually have VERY strong pot, as they need to be able to provide an appropriate strain to people in late stages of cancer, aids, ms, etc. What you want is definitely a sativa. Indicas are whats going to produce allot of side effects in a new smoker. It will kick in hard and quick, and make you dizzy and confused. Sativas on the other hand are more in the head, they tend to ease in more, and give you a clear euphoric high, you will likely find that you are able to smoke more of the sativas, and actually get higher, and feel very good. Pot is just like any other medicine, and it will produce some side effects at first, but they will go away. And like someone else said, you will eventually love that hazy, morning after feeling, and the way you breakfast tastes so good... Also, when the pot is wearing off, taking a shower might help. Also after you smoke, watch how you sit or lay, as anything will feel comfortable. You could lay on a pile of rocks and it would feel good. In the past I would smoke a bowl, and sit in a weird way on a couch for hours and listen to music, only to find that when it wears off, my back hurts or something. You can't go wrong with a lazy boy though. Anyway, just give the pot a chance, it is seriously a wonderful plant.

You could eat some edibles, eat like a half one before you go to bed and then it'll wear off before you wake-up. They give you a good body high. Capsules are just another way to ingest weed and it will give you a different high, since it's basically cooked weed ready to make your body high. Try some different kinds of buds and see which one is the best for you. Move up the ladder as you build your tolerance don't start with the great strains, until your a seasoned smoker and can handle their awesome feeling. I would invest in a bong if you don't already have one and smoke one bowl out of it before you pass out for the night, you should feel good in the morning if the bud you get doesn't fry you

Dude awsome post you are correct and that's exactly what I did! The sativas are doing me way better than the indicas. My problem is now will I ever be able to smoke the indicas or will they always make me feel this way? I would like to be able to smoke both but thats down the road. I tried some j1 that was awsome woke up in the best mood yesterday.

    I'm glad I could help.

And yes, you will definitely get to a point where you can smoke indicas. You just have to get used to being high. Most new smokers are not as lucky as you to have one of the best connections in the world. They will start with a bad connection, and will be lucky if they can get mids. They will gradually get better connections until they are able to buy good weed, and meanwhile they are getting used to the experience of being high. I didn't smoke a well grown indica until about a year after I started smoking, which was when I was 16. It was chronic, and it was like the first time getting high all over again. If you're using mmj for chronic pain you will eventually find indicas to be best. After you smoke sativas for a few months you could probably switch to an indica/sativa hybrid, and eventually swich to a indica dominant or pure indica. The people at the dispensary can definitely help you with picking the right ones.

Yeah it's for back pain. I used to get high I mean really fucking high as a kid and then quit about 5 or 10 years back. When I did get high it was here and there. I don't seem to get that anymore is it the pain meds I'm taking? I head that oxycodone overrides the weed and I sort of feel it like that. I dunno what do you think

A tip with weed is to sleep a lot longer than normal. Typically you feel quite burnt out if you sleep your usual length or shorter, at least that's what I find if I smoke Indica based strains.

But yeah, when you're first smoking, just take a couple of hits in a day. Build that up slowly. The thing with weed is you need some tolerance so that you're not always feeling burnt out, but not so much that you can't get high. :)

First off, theres history of back pain in my family. My mom got it when she was my age, and literally just over the past few months I've been noticing that when I wake up, there will be sharp pain in my back. It is indeed very painful, and I couldn't imagine having that feeling for more than just the 5 minutes in the morning. Also back in high school, I was pretty stupid and did tons of drugs, including oxycodone, and I had found that it did in fact sort of block pot, but only when I took high doses, and was so out of it to notice the effects of the pot. My guess would be that if you use oc on a daily basis, you're not taking really heavy doses. However on lower doses, I found pot would compliment the effects. First off, I'm not a doctor, but maybe you could talk to your doctor about lowering your oc dose so that you can see how the mmj does. Maybe you can eventually switch to just marijuana, and many people actually do that. And what specific oxycodone pill are you taking, ie percocet, oxycontin, etc. If your not taking oxycontin, you may want to consider that. I've never taken oxycontin without crushing it up, but I believe that when you swallow it, it is not very sedating, but still provides pain relief.

You are probably quite new to smoking weed. When I just started I would often feel burned out the next day after smoking, I didn't feel bad or anything but I just felt cloudy in my mind. As I smoked more then I stopped getting that burnt out feeling. Sometimes now I even feel sharper the next day after I have a session. I think Its something you will just take a bit of time to get used to. But don't give up on the weed bro :)

    Peace
