---- I realized something. African American (eroneously, in my estimation anyway, frequently termed "black", even by their own volition...) art and artists, music and style, are significantly under represented in my posts, here, in mainstream pop culture, and on the internet in general. There is an overwhelming disparity. Undereducated, undervalued... but never underwhelming. This is "Ms. Jackson". It's by Outkast, who is African American (aka "black", which we know if we listened is not only a misnomer, but a social construct that is perpetuated unfortunately by word of mouth and tradition). ---- Here we are on HipForums though. The majority of our commentary is with regard to sex, drugs, politics, or family, friendship, and life more generally after the party has wrapped and we are faced with the bill. Is it the wrong place to insert assertions about African American art, performers, and style? I don't think it is, no. Here's G Love & the Special Sauce, who are urban, white, and funky.
