your little mamas dreads are beautiful! I remember I started mine around the same time and in a similar way (backcombed at first and then when it all fell out I just let it do it's thing). Keep posting pics as it's great to see the progress they're making, mine are looking very similar although they're much longer and a little loopier as I started with hair about the same length as yours and naturally wavy.
what a great mum! to start off life having no sense of conformity is one o the best and rarest things any perant could do for their child.
When I was a kid, I thought it was the worst thing my Mom ever did to me. But then again, I went to public school where being different is a crime, punishable by constant bullying and being picked on.
Do you think your youngest daughter might want to get them because of her big sister? They look close Very cool by the way!
I just can't get over how gorgeous your girls are and the little dreadie, her locks are looking beautiful, especially in your sig picture.
Thanks! Her dreads are making definite progress, every day just a little bit. I couldn't resist sharing that photo of little sister!
I love them! They are so cute! I kinda want to go out and get one... Maybe in a couple of years I don't think my fiance is ready for one though! Heh heh!
omg! she is so pretty! Whenever I create a family we're going to be a dready family! The papa also has to have dreads..lol..i've been telling my family and my friends that my husband will have dreads and so will my children. So did your daughter decide one day that she wanted dreads or did you ask her?
she had been asking for dreads for a little over a year before I agreed to it. It was entirely her idea, I did my best to discourage her... LOL
wow, she really wanted them because usually kids give up on asking. A year is a long time! she's a cutie!
thought I'd just add some more photos to this old thread. Maybe encourage those of you with new dreads to leave your hair alone and let it do its thing... June, 2006 July August
awww she is a cutie!! Her dreads are beautiful!! Thank you for letting your daughter express her soul.
I think that bunny thing is a little creepy! But those dreadies are looking AWESOME! She has beautiful green/hazel eyes. You're a lucky mama!
