Arguing over the Internet is like competing in the Special Olympics; win or lose, in the end, you're still retarded.
AMEN!!! Meeting that punk kid would seriously test my belief in non-violence. Jointboy sounds like a teenage version of Archie Bunker. Hey everybody since Archie junior won't listen to reason lets just quit wasting our time and ignore him.
When I first got involved in the Libertarian movement back in '92, one of the professors at my college had this variation on the bulletin board outside his office: "I pledge obedience to the bureaucrats who are the United States government and to their salaries for which I pay one nation, deep in debt, irresponsible with slavery through taxation for all" Quite a while later, I came up with these variations: "I pledge obedience, to the demagogues, who are the United States (Maryland State) Government And to the laws, which they impose, One nation (state), overregulated, irresponsible, with slavery through oppression for all
I thought you might be interested in this editorial from Nexus Magazine (an Aussie alternative mag, Vol 12, Number 1): "I have often wondered how the people of Nazi Germany allowed their country to fall under the gradual but hypnotic spell of corporate facism under Hitler and his Western corporate backers. Looking at the USA today I can see how easily this was achieved. The world is watching in shock and horror as Americans allow their freedom and any shred of international respect to slip away. And we can only expect things to go from bad to worse. Voting in these last elections was rigged on a massive scale, but the other story here is that the media and the main 'losing party' fear raising the issue of this grand fraud. Truly, America has become a nation of fear. The public fears the terrorists (manufactured by Bush's backers for the very reason of inducing fear), activists and journalists fear the new gestapo (aka Homeland Security), and the world, in turn, now fears America. The fact that the governments of Australia and the UK are supporting the Bush government in its every aggressive action should be of great concern to us all - but too many of us are too busy to notice, too apathetic to care or feel to disempowered to think we can change anything". Personally, it sickens and horrifies me that the massive electoral fraud appears to be just 'accepted' ...and without a shadow of a doubt, it will be repeated. Truly, you guys have lost any shred of democracy you started out with. That is crystal clear. And now that the bad guys know how to stay in power...well, there will be earth-shattering consequences for all of us. God help us...
