I agree...I guess most of you only know the quote by him about god being dead, so... You lot should start visiting library more often, instead of asking such things on forums.
Why do you expect that we only know that quote? Because you by saying that it is all we know you appear more wise? And why should he not ask that question on a forum, isn't that what forums are all about... asking questions? And who said we don't visit libraries just because we don't know everything about this one person??? Don't take this the wrong way it was written in a friendly state of mind... some of it... I think
It's just the fact that pretty much (say, nine tenths of people) all people who I talked with about Nietzsche (and philosophy in general) only know him by this quote or some other stereotypes, like übermenschen and such.
hehe, that was just the first that came to mind, yes... And I don't even think that 9/10 people know his quotes, or even know him
Yeah, that was kind of my point, though. He may have been considered and may be considered a genius, but I don't really see Nietzsche standing out that greatly. He hit some bullseyes and sometimes he struck out, but we all do... Nothing too grand.
