I have had both nipples pierced for over ten years. Healing time is 6 months to a year but the discomfort goes away in a few weeks.
To avoid infection, clean them twice a day, every day.

Question about nipple piercing: Did it make yours more or less sensitive? My nipples are very sensitive, and I've heard that in many people it increases the sensitivity. Woo-hoo! But I've also heard that in a few people it decreases it. Wouldn't want that!

And for the record, Takemenow, I agree with the gent who said that's a sexy picture of you...and I don't even date ladies! :)

Mine increased in sensativity...AT FIRST...but then you get so used to it, they are just normal...I loved it when they were super sensative tho. I actually met some one who went to a bad piercer who didnt know what he was doing and he lost feeling in one of his nipples....there's always a risk...I mean you're getting a needle poked through your skin....your skin has nerves all over the place. But to speak from my own experience....it was fun and totally worth it.

piercing my nipples was probably the most painful thing i've ever done to myself, but i love them. aside from having those done, i have my belly button pierced on the top and bottom. and i have 3 tattoos.
