I agree It's a lazy way to parent and it obviously does not work. If you have to hit a child and the child still gose and does the thing again...obviously spanking did not work but you continue to spank the child. Duhhhh. When you treat a child like a human being that is not lesser than you you get a better result from your parenting. There are far more ways to deal with every situation than just whacking yoru kid and sending them off to cry. or whatever. What spanking does is makes your child see you as a fear instead of a shelter. Why would you ever want your child to fear you? You are the Matrex...you are that childs doorway to everything and you are hitting it. Belittleing the child isn't the way to teach the child waht the right thing to do it. Instead of hitting a child you need to tell the child the correct thing to do and you need to model it so they have something to go from. Hit the child after telling them not to hit is just plane stupid.
