So why don't you go wear a sign about that and look like a moron, at the shopping mall? Why do people throw so much stuff away? Maybe because they believe the greedy corporate hype underlying pretty much every TV commercial, "Buy! Buy! Buy! and then you will be happy." Never mind that a lot of that cheap crap people buy, isn't made to last, and is made in Chinese slave labor underpaid factory sweatshops? So where does all the money go then? Largely to undeserving, overpaid, bigwig, unaccountable, can't-be-fired "kings" CEOs who arrange the exportation of our jobs to other low-wage, more-sensible-taxed countries. Well why don't you stop throwing stuff away? Why don't you just hold it in and not use the toilet anymore? We already have scalable technology that will work for practically any-sized population, to keep wastewater and drinkable water separate, or to repurify the water again. We can even desalinate ocean water, and make it drinkable/usable, as needed or if or as it may come to that. Back in the "good ol' days," I seriously doubt that river and stream water was all that clean anyway, long before man/population growth, the Industrial Revolution, and the greedy grow-at-all-costs corporations, started polluting it all that much. Before there was mud, animal feces, and of course, micro-organisms. Maybe that's a reason more people died young way back when. The "clean" solution back then, was likely wells, as the ground naturally filtered the water. Science says no such thing. To say that people are much the same as animals, is itself a "religous" statement and not "scientific" at all. And surely you don't want for people to live more like mere animals? Because that's what is encouraged, by the athiestic, evolutionary mindset. It undermines "civilization" and morality and such, and any effort that people might supposely have, to "better" themselves. If we are created in God's image like Genesis tells, then perhaps we might try to act a bit more like a wise and moral God then? The delustion of god has no place in a serious discussion of the earth or the life that has "evolved" here? Oh really? Well "life" and "evolve" and "earth" all quickly enter into the "religious" realm. What are you going to do then, with Psalm 24:1 I think it is, that says "The earth is the Lord's..."? Write it off as "delusion" or "having no place in a serious discussion?" Well if the earth is not God's or God is a "delusion," then who does the earth belong to then? To the animals? Well the animals aren't smart enough to manage it. Maybe to the evolutionist "scientists" population phobics who argue to "limit" population and oppress the masses? Maybe the power-hungry dictators and politicians, to use and abuse as they please? I got it. How about the corporations, to use only to exploit for resources, to fatten the portfolios of bigwig stockholders? (Who probably favor population growth among the masses to increase sales, but not population growth among workers lest they have to pay a decent living or family wage so that people can support their children/families.) Maybe the earth "owns" itself? But then who knows what an unthinking planet could supposedly "want?" Maybe it's just there and nothing matters? Can you see how all these wrong viewpoints don't particularly foster needed human-friendly reforms?
science shows us that there is no biological basis for man being unique among animals. we are only unique in our conception of ourselves. we share 99% of the same DNA as chimpanzees. think about that. the "evolutionary mindset" encourages nothing other than an understanding of how life adapts to the challenges of a dynamic changing world. only a religious person would be foolish enough to consider evolution to be a religious concept. dont pretend that religion has some kind of monopoly on morality. the morals in christianity were prescribed by those who wrote and edited the bible. do you honestly think that humans with no concept of god are incapable of having an idea of morality? to care and have compassion for other humans is innate. it doesnt need to be taught. how else do you think we survived the extremes of the ice age? by looking after eachother, not by praying. why does the earth need to belong to anything or anyone? humans dont manage the planet, we simply exist here. dont foster this illusion of control. so we need a collective myth in order to motivate ourselves towards improving our own existence? religion does not empower humans in any way that they cannot otherwise be inspired. it clouds debate because a lot of its ideas originated in the bronze age, and they are obsolete. the environmentalist viewpoint considers that a healthy world is essential for healthy and happy humans. this is why we should avoid destroying diverse ecosystems, not because those ecosystems have feelings, but because it is good for the mental health of our own species to be able to appreciate them, something you seem incapable of.
Uh, yeah...but hot water is going to be used to clean clothes anyway...just a little less than usual in one bucket, a little in another, and voila, no more waste than usual. Also the amount of cloth diapers (theyre called nappies here) needed is so much less than the disposables...much, much less waste and less of a problem
