I think i'm gunna say fuck it, and just go to university... set up an appointment, and just let the councillors decide which courses i should take... otherwise i'll never do anything... I have no passion for any specific career, and my mind constantly changes, I can never make a sturdy decision... in the past 18 years of my life i've wanted to be an actor, a musician, a game developer, join the military, become a cop, become a writer and travel the world, and now lately i've been thinking about marketing and advertising... fuck, I don't know... I just want something, some sort of long term goal that I can work towards, because right now i feel like i'm wasting time, ever since i graduated i felt like ive been wasting time doing nothing, i'm working towards nothing here

I think I should go to university and get all of my general basic courses done and complete all upgrading... that will give me a feel what its like, and if i take a bunch of different classes it'll give me a better perspective of what i do and don't like perhaps...

 

That is sad.


Walking Grace at the cemetery this afternoon we saw a young deer who was limping. I knew there were deer there but never saw one out during the day. We did not really see the deer until we were back in the car and driving out. Grace was really mesmerized by the large animal.

 

university completely SUUUUUCKS if you dont know what you want to do. you're fuckin 18, it's so absurd to ask an 18 year old what they want to spend a ridiculous amount of money on learning about in order to attain a similar career for the rest of your life.

i never suggest going to college to kids asking me what they should do.
fuck that.

university is great, being a freshman on campus is fun (sort of) but spending that much money on general education classes and pre-requisites while not even knowing if that's the shit you want to do 10 years from now???it was fucking wrecking on my psyche

I had an episode couple weeks ago. Was trippin harder than I've tripped in a while (probably only had about 3 grams of shrooms if that) and I passed out as I was peaking. Landed right on my face on my friends' front porch. Woke up super confused. My head still hurts...I think I have a concussion.

 

All of the Stephen King books I've read are good. Well, some are better than others, but they are all a good read. I'm way behind in my reading - he has written so many, and I may have read half of them.

Maybe if you read violent books you'd be less inclined to be violent yourself.

If you have a community college nearby you could save a lot of money by taking classes there instead of a four-year university. That way you could just take whatever struck your fancy without incurring a huge expense while you're seeing how you like various subjects. If you find something you really like, you could go to university at that point, or just take more community college prerequisites and then transfer to university.

Another thing is: You don't necessarily hafta be stuck doing the same thing all your life. I've had three careers. The third one turned out to be something I loved and was good at, and made me decent money. You could try something for a while, and if you decide you want to try something different you might be able to find evening classes at the community college for something different while you're still working. That's how I made my last career change.

getting a gigantic tax return this year, completely forgot about those... so i splurged on an expensive half ounce today. my favourite strain came around so i figured i'd treat myself.

 

free solar and wind powered concert on saturday here with sustainability displays etc for earth hour....i may go

Although i'm not 100% sure as to what I want to do, I think i'm going to go into marketing. Because at least I have an interest in that, I've always liked advertising and I think the creative aspect of it would be fun. Plus, marketing applies to nearly every field of work out there, so I can get involved with whatever my interests are in the years to come. Every industry and every business needs marketing. I could go into media, banking, large corporations, environmental stuff, charities, real-estate, etc... the possibilities are endless. Every career I wanted throughout my life, I could still go into with it... Criminal justice fields, writers, media, gaming industries, etc... all need marketers and advertising.

Only issue is, I need math 12 to get into business, I never took math 12 and I suck at math, but i'm sure I can begin my prerequisite courses while upgrading math at the same time, that way I don't have to wait to much longer... I don't think I'm going to start until September though, don't entirely wanna waste my summer by working plus going to classes all the time.

 

ortus - some universities will offer high-school equivalencey courses that you can take in first semester. it's worth looking into.
