You know sig has been in the service too, correct? (and one other thing is, I wouldn't really compare sig and riptide.. one is an idiot for sure- the other, I wouldn't say that-and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out which I mean by which distinction...)

Anyways...the group of people who just argue and call names around here are really going no where with anything they have to say....why the need to call names because you don't agree with everything (or anything!) someone else says?
(this is not directed at any one, or even two, people...)

There's a big difference in the military I was in and the one today. When I was in, the government draft made guys go kill for the profits of the industrial military complex. Today it's a mercenary military. Morons sign up to go kill for the industrial military complex.
But it is so nice of you to come to the defense of that asshole moron, as he is incapable of defending his fucking moron attacks. If you can come up with one post of his, that isn't an attack on me in one of my threads, then you can show some difference between him and that other moron, riptide. Otherwise you're just trying to defend the Sarah Palin type morons.

Sounds like hangover was a damn good namecaller in the military ; calling Seals and Rangers names while distributing ice cream bars. Getting back to point , syria would be a great location for the west to deposit our undesireables. Mysoginists , child molesters , rapists , mass murderers etc. would feel much more "at home" in islamic cultures. Rather than intervene in their concerted evil , we could in fact cleanse our society of undesireables by simply making them clerics in another culture.

You were saying about showing "total disrespect" for those that "served honorably"? There is a difference between disagreeing with a vet and disrespecting a vet. You, in keeping with everything you've posted I suppose, cannot differentiate between the two. Apparently, if someone disagrees with any position or opinion of yours they are not only a dirty "conservative", but they are also guilty of disrespecting vets. Your logic (and I use that term extremely loosely) is pathetic.

Sounds like you were abused by a man with a beard or something yourself, riptide. What's with this blatant culture bashing and absurd middle east 'solutions' of you otherwise?

I don't always, 100% agree with sig. - just like I don't always 100% agree with you.- but I can usually still see his points when I don't agree with him and I don't see him talking like riptide.
Plus the insults on you? I see you insulting people constantly... and yes,I see people doing it to you.. the whole back and forth from both "sides" really is pointless.
Oh and btw, I'm personally not a huge fan of the military industrial complex and I have some pretty strong views about certain things the military has done. But I still remain respectful of people in the service or that have been in it because it's not for me to be running my mouth about.

See, you're just so full of hate that I can't even really come up with responses to you. Maybe if you'd cool it down a little bit you'd be able to talk about any valid points you may or may not have... but when you constantly give blanket statements to whole nations of people then nothing you say has any validity..

    lol.
Well, I just replied to riptide but even when doing so I kept thinking "why are you doing this? Why are you replying to him?" because it's not gonna change him and it's pointless... really posts like his are best just ignored- they are THAT ridiculous.

If you haven't noticed, I too ignore moron posts, as it is futile to try to cure stupidity. But like when sig attacked me and you laughed at it, I responded because I still have hope for you.
But sometimes the moron posts are so asinine, it's like Hawkeye making fun of Frank Burns(MASH is a movie older than you, so you may be unfamiliar), in order to expose the shear stupidity of the right wing philosophy. This is done for the enlightenment of the ignorant.

Fyi, I laughed because he said something nice to me in that post...

I try not to be mean to anyone-whether I agree with them or not. That's why sometimes it can seem like I'm defending....all diff types of people...

I actually have hope that if people just start respecting all diff opinions that differ from theirs (riptide, is an exception, obviously.), then maybe people can start eventually understanding the things that we all agree with instead of focusing on differences.
What can I say... I'm still fairly idealistic. ;)

(addition- one thing I do agree with you about... I think- at least to an extent- is Israel... I personally think Israel is a bully and I have issues with lots of things Israel does.. but yeah...)

Your lame excuses are what's pathetic. Calling me a liar about what I did in the military IS disrespect.

You said nothing about the military. You just said "top secret communications", which is a field you should know (if you really were in it) that goes beyond just military, especially if we're talking about an embassy. Then there is the whole throwing around of your supposed time doing classified work. Very, very secret squirrel of you.

FYI, communications for the embassies is done by STRATCOM, a division of the army, like BIG RED ONE, or the 101st AIRBORNE. And you double down again on your moronics, with the stupid squirrel attack. No classified work was divulged, it's only what I did in the military. Your ignorance is only surpassed by your stupidity.

STRATCOM isn't a division like 1st ID or the 101st. It is a unified command (meaning it has components from all the branches), the others are maneuver/field units. You should know this if you were a part of it.... Also, communications for embassies isn't handled by them. It certainly wasn't doing it in the 1970s, seeing as it wasn't established until the early 90s. You should know this....

The mere fact that you held a clearance is technically classified, RJ. Something else you should know....

You continue to double down on being a moron. Ignorance is not knowing. Being a moron is pretending to know what you don't. When I was in Ft. Huachuca(the training and headquarters of STRATCOM), there were no other military branches there, only army. We wore a STRATCOM patch on our uniform, just like the 101st wears a 101st patch. When I was in SHAPE HQ in Belgium, there were no other military branches in STRATCOM. Granted, 1973 was 40 years ago, so things might have changed in the military with STRATCOM. But the point I was making originally, was about being in Iran, and knowing about the disagreements of the Sunni and Shiite Muslims. Being in Iran wasn't classified, and neither is being in the communications for the U.S. embassy.
All of congress, the CIA and FBI has security clearances, that's not classified info either, it's just another moron statement of yours. So since you are so determined to be a moron, I'm just going back to ignoring your stupid shit posts, because there's no hope for you. AMF

I think you are confusing terms. Again, US STRATCOM is a unified command established in the early 1990s, and is headquartered in Nebraska. You obviously weren't with this command. Are you confusing it with something else? Perhaps U.S. Army Strategic Communications Command?

Saying you handled "top secret communications" is classified.

Go ahead and ignore me. Just goes to show you cannot handled being questioned.
