1) i wasnt bashing emo bands, notice how when i said 'faggot emo bands' i put it in qoutes, because i was qouting the person who posted before me. 2)I never said anything about talent, the guy before me put that into my mouth, i never said talent was absent in punk music, and even if it is it doesnt matter. you guys need to read the full thread before you post a reply to someone, your taking things out of context.
THANK YOU! Ugh its so irritating...who the hell cares? First of all, did anyone ever notice that not once did Blink 182 or Sum 41 or those guys *ever* actually call themselves punk? Um, no. And second- punk has evolved over the years. I'm sorry, but its not going to stop so stop bitching. And lastly, there was no set definition for punk in the first place. Its open to interpretation. Goodness.
out of all the bands you listed, green day is most "punk" in my opinion. but i do not consider them punk. one band i've been listening to nonstop since like december is FEAR! more beer! more beer!
when the entire song falls apart at the end for about a minute when he yells you know your right 20 or so times and the entire song just goes into chaos?
Dude, 1) you're whipped and 2) Good Charlotte aren't emo, they're punk (think about it motherfucker, they are).
You think Good Chalotte is emo... ahem, but get a clue, dickhead. NOONE likes those cunts. I doubt very much even their parents like them as people.
Yes, you're whipped, stop making excuses. Pop punk doesn't make sense. Punk started off as pop punk, therefor the term 'pop punk' is redundant, it's like calling it pop pop punk. Think about it, all the bands that get acclaim for being the first punk bands are all 'pop punk', they are the exact same thing as all other pop punk bands, only they whine on about political things, rather than the misery of being a teenager.
I dunno, I just like using big person words, like 'fuck' and '****'. I feel big argueing with people over the internet .
We're talking about the bands praised for creating punk, not the alternative punk bands. Punk started in the mainstream, do your research. I'm not denying it created alternative punk bands and such. Infact, I quite enjoy some punk. But it was a mainstream thing to begin with. The term punk came from the mainstream.
That has nothing to do with anything I've just said... Haha. Ofcourse you can... But 'being punk' means nothing, it's an overated idea. I mean, all the people that call themselves punk are idiots and have no idea about ANYTHING, yet along what 'punk' is. And the people that are actually 'punk' (according to what everyone thinks punk is), refuses to be associated with it because it's a scene full of complete and utter IDIOTS.
So every band that's makes it big sucks cock and kiss asses? That's the single most idiotic thing I've ever heard.
WTF is all this punk shit anyway? i thought it was just a sort of revolutionary ideal, not something that could be classified or turned into a genre/style. It's not about playing music "this" way, and wearing "these" clothes, it's about fucking shit up. which is lamer than Full House IMHO but still, thats what its about, the reason we call the music we call punk "punk" is because thats the type of music that was needed to stir shit up amongst all the wankyass prog and epic wank-rock that was going on at the time, keeping it exactly the same after all these years defeats the purpose and it makes no sense to call it punk music. It's almost like how "pop" music no longer simply means popular, it applies to a very specific genre, same with punk. So all this punk>nu punk shit is a load of hot dog semen in your carefully spiked hair. There is no escaping selling out in a genre that doesn't mean anything else
also, I saw Sex/Drugs/Rockinroll exposing himself to a 4 year old girl, then he jerked off to a lawnmower
