does the rooster have sex with the hen or does it jizz on the eggs outside the hen.. I know, juvenil question but thats all I wanna know.

 

shell hardness is determined by having enough calcium in their diet. then it gets a mucusy coating (bloom) which protects it. they can hang out at room temperature unwashed, but once you wash the bloom off they start to lose moisture through the shell (this is why the older an egg is, the higher it floats in water. fresh eggs sink right to the bottom)

eggs can be laid shell-less, but its more of a "whoopsie!"

theres mating. pretty aggressive, but a lot less rapey than ducks. they have a corkscrew penis.

They fuck. Watching birds fuck is crazy. The males spread their wings and use them for balance while thrusting. Some species get very loud. Of course, roosters are loud all the time.

 

i have eggs almost every morning.. crack two in the skillet and turn my back for a second they are done. . ,I mostly eat at work tho, every day there is a breakfast or a lunch snack catered.. floppy nuked waffles, because they dont stay warm in the tin/ and eggs and jam better than no food in belly at all. beans and hot dogs we had today,, tomorrow will be some kinda breakfast.. bagels or donuts, all the good food been used up this week..

 

i used to eat eggs every morning for breakfast, but now I leave the house too early and don't have an appetite for eggs at 4 or 5 am, so I just have them on weekends.

we have a community garden plot at one of the city gardens. it is coming along nicely now. we planted beets, kale, bush beans, snap peas, delicata squash, yellow summer squash, sage, dill, basil, and a bunch of tomato plants (and probably more stuff that I'm forgetting). we planted a ton of kale and are harvesting it early as baby kale - i think it has a better texture that way. i've also got some lettuce and bok choy growing in a planter in the yard, along with a few tomato plants. I get them free from work so we have plants everywhere haha.

and the way the rooster makes sure the eggs of all the hens are fertilized at the appropriate time is very simple....
