at least we got something in the SR-71, and it was something worth having, lately military contractors have been foisting more and more crap upon warfighters, from the osprey (fucking rotor whop? seriously? on a modern aircraft) to that big landmine resistant truck they're selling em that's so top heavy it's a miracle if it doesn't roll going any speed, let along appreciable tactical speeds.

There's lots of WWII veterans still alive. My grandfather is one of them. It's the WWI veterans who are pretty much dead, except for I think maybe one.

Most WWII veterans are in their 80s now.
