I can't believe people still have an uproar over the fact that obama said "Special Olympics".. he really should have started that line with "we are going to get rid of all the special olympic types"... you wanna talk about leeches on the government payroll.. they leech more money than some nig collecting welfare.. at least they are not having constant doctors visits that are costing the tax payers $1,000s per visit... time to go tribal and kill off the weak/dying

A hell of a lot of schools already do this as it is, it's not some big new world order conspiracy. And almost everyone can have their parents or at least someone they know fake it for them.

 

we have to do 60 hours at my school.

 

I'm all for mandatory civil service in schools... it'll grow back bone in the youth.. todays kids are nothing but lazy fucks with less than sub par work ethics

I agree with Jokerman even though I didn't have to do it but the town next to me did and it was awesome not doing it. But again, it's so easy to fake it, no one I know really did it in the other town.

 

then wtf is the point of saying you think it should be mandatory even though you yourself just said no one really ever does it...

that just makes more work for the counselors who already have enough on their hands. we have like 8 counselors for around 2500 kids... that's around 300 students per counselor. they have to worry about their students' schedules and college shit and emotional break downs and a whole load of stuff why would we want to dump more work on these people when they're already overloaded?

around here people do the community service, but they're all jackasses and just waste the supervisors time...

it 100% sucks, does absolutely NO good, and who the fuck gave obama the idea that he could interfere with school policy anyways? that shits for the state.

oh and... he also wants to make school years longer. haven't we already learned the lesson of quality, not quantity? maybe improvements to schools as a whole (aka better teachers, better technology, higher standards, etc) rather than lengthening the shit we already have would solve our problems.

 

Well our school year is shorter then most other industrialized nations, and trust me I know the irony of saying they should do it but no one will. But a few people will, and everyone else gets valuable lying experience. But the fact is my generation is a bunch of lazy fucks and the people 6 years below me are even more lazy fucks. At least people I know still have memories of a world without constant internet, cell phones, wikipedia, ect.

 

i honestly don't believe having a longer school year will improve anything...

the problem lies not in amount of time we're in school but what we're actually doing while we're there.

i think "honors" level should be the regular and AP should be considered honors. academic classes are a fucking joke and it's RIDICULOUS that people can't pass them
