Maybe so but it's time Americans started to realise that their President, no matter how close to royalty they imagine them to be, doesn't run the country.
I'm not saying I know one LOL... However, I think it would be possible to keep everything about board and keep your hands clean.. You don't have to get them dirty to run a country, I believe that is a fallacy. They always say "there was no other choice" YES THERE IS. There is ALWAYS another choice. However, all they care about once they are in is to get as much money as they can, get their book deals, and side offers, and then collect their pension... :afro:
I voted for Obama the first time, and am thoroughly disgusted with what he has done during his time in office. Sure Obamacare is a big deal, but in the grand scheme of things it's only a small step in the right direction, but Democrats are making it out to be the best thing that has happened this century. Otherwise, Obama's actions have me ashamed to be American who voted for him. These drone strikes that he has been utilizing in Pakistan and Yemen without the support of the American people is disgusting, and the CIA is seeking permission to use drone strikes and become a new militarized agency instead of the investigative organization it really is. His failure to sign the Kyoto agreement is one of my biggest frustrations with him. He campaigned on green energy expansion, and his actions are indicating anything, but. His manipulative organizing during the United Nations Climate Summit in 2009 was anything but democratic. A week or so prior to this summit the EPA designated carbon dioxide as a threat to health, but still he stated there will be no binding agreement from this summit. Hard headed? Well he followed through wit that guarantee when he got the heads of sate of China, India, Brazil, and South Africa to sign the "Copenhagen Accord." This states that countries agreed that there needs to be severe cuts in global emissions according to science. Rather than saying what the countries would be doing to reduce emissions, leaders only had to pledge. The Kyoto Agreement, still not signed by the US, would require changes in our emissions output...Obama will not sign this. I could go on, and on, but I fear I would annoy and frustrate. For those frustrated with the 2 party system I encourage you to google "Expanding the Debate" via Democracy Now! For all three debates they aired the Presidential debate between Mit Romney and Pres. Obama, but paused to allow third party candidates answer the same questions. It is amazing to watch. Rather than acting like children and interrupting each other and dancing around the questions, these guys actually agreed w/each other on occasion and answered the questions. (LINKS POSTED @ end of this post) I will be voting for Jill Stein from the Green party, she stands for everything I believe in and actually will do what is best for all the American people. She has been arrested twice in the past month. Why? First she was arrested at a Presidential debate, trying to get in to watch!!!! She had tickets, but her and her running mate Cheri Honkala were handcuffed to a chair for 8 hours! Now she is in custody (as far as I know today still) for attempting to get fresh supplies to the tree sitters trying to block the keystone pipeline project in Texas. YOU GO GIRL! She has filed a lawsuit against the Commission on Presidential debates, why? Because it is undemocratic, it is composed of people from large corporations and the two main parties. This year there was a document created jointly by Romney and Obama's campaigns and signed by both, restricting them to only 3 debates, and excluding any outside presidential nominees. The committee also controls what questions are asked. This is unheard of, and as Jill Stein has said she is on 85% of the ballots, and 85% of the American people deserve to hear what ALL their options have to say. So this lawsuit, in my eyes is HUGE. Learn more http://www.democracynow.org/2012/10/16/secret_debate_contract_reveals_obama_and She is a doctor and knows the insides of the healthcare system. I encourage you all to inform yourself. Do not vote in fear, Do not vote for a lesser of 2 evils, vote for what you in your heart believes is right. If we don't start voting outside of the 2 party system we can not change the system. PLEASE VOTE. I don't care for who, but PLEASE vote! Links to the debates I mentioned earlier are below: http://www.democracynow.org/2012/10/4/expanding_the_debate_exclusive_third_party (from Oct. 4) http://www.democracynow.org/blog/20...cy_now_debate_special_from_hofstra_university (from Oct 17th) Larry King actually hosted a debate AND Ralph Nader will host a third party debate on Nov 4th, so I hear, but I am unable to find too much info on it at this moment. Please vote, apathy will not create change. Please inform yourself. I am spreading the word here because I want people to know about their options. I want to be proud to be an American citizen again, and I will use my vote to express my disgust with the current political system. Obama isn't change for me, and I want change!!!!
Everyone wants change.. What I don't understand is with all the people that want change in the world.. Why is nothing changing? I guess it must be because no one has really gotten together and agreed on what kind of change to implement perhaps...
In my opinion not much change has been made because: There is no collaboration b/w the bipartisan composite in congress. and Many members of congress care very little about what their constituents have to say about what should be done. and Money controls too many things these days, and the majority of people who want change can't afford a lobbyist that will help them achieve their goals. They shouldn't need a lobbyist, but until money is out of politics there is little the public can do. ------------------------------------- Because of this I will be voting for a candidate who stands for the people and has good intentions for the people of this country. Bringing about change even with a third party president (if elected) would be challenging, but there would be more ideas presented to Congress and the American people. More importantly, I hope it would inspire a new generation of politicians who are in it politics to better our country, not for financial gain.
Some might disagree because he owned slaves. But I'm not convinced it's relevant since he um, didn't use his slaves to get elected.
Not really. He didn't have any constitutional right to keep the South in the union (and we'd probably have been better off without them). He was clever enough to let them shoot first, but that doesn't mean he had no blood on his hands.
There's a lot more to it than that. And I certainly don't want to debate about the worthiness of the subject as a debate topic so, lets leave it at that eh? EDIT: Hold on, I'm not a freakin' moderator. Don't listen to me.
So Eagle claw failed, (There is controversy as to how that all went down I might add) how does that make Carter a "dirty" prez?
