and why do they believe that? Because he pretty much told them that. He told them all exactly what they wanted to hear. And that was all it took. Americans can be so gullible sometimes

Can someone really believe that state will take care of him?! Not even I am that naive. I agree... the only way state can take care of you is the taxes. But I'm still for Obama (even though it doesn't count) but.. did he really say that or is it just people who think he said that?

I'm not sure in this case, that's why I'm asking.

Yes, there are some that do. I saw a clip on YouTube of a woman stating that she "wouldn't have to worry about paying for gas, wouldn't have to worry about paying her mortgage..." etc.

I'm thinking, what? You're still going to have to pay for it, you can't squeeze blood from a turnip! Look at the mess the economy is in right now, you can't expect things to disappear like that. ;)

All we can do really is hope for the best. I know something needs to be done, things can't keep going like they are. I tell you though, I don't envy Obama one bit, he's got one major mess to deal with when he takes office.

I'm going to hold onto the hope that things are going to change for the better. That's all one can do really.

thats about the only thing I admire him for. Why the fuck he would want this mess is beyond me.

Oh my... how can those people be so naive? Well Europeans had always been a bit more skeptical than the Americans, so maybe that's why all the news in the Czech are talking not about the first black president, but about the president, who "inherited" a really big mess and we're all wondering if he will be even able to do something about it. I've never thought of him as a messiah who will take care of me.. *trying to think as an American*

Oops. Next year will be really interesting.

I am a strong advocate of hope and positive thinking. Not fear. I have sunk into it in very strange ways lately, to the point of shaking....but for me that stuff does not feel good. Its not about being ignorant, its about choosing to feel the things that feel good in my heart.

And that is not just going to happen with Obama but with choices made by each person. Its time to come together and take responsibility for being the change we want to see.

Times may get darker. He may be a puppet. He might be a liar. But right now I am excited. It's a great time to be alive. There are so many possibilities and we each make a difference.
