Protesters filling Times Square. I heard that the police did some kettling ...shoppers, tourists, protesters.... http://www.livestream.com/occupynyc
Their corporate masters will be pissed if they corralled shoppers and tourists.... those people spend money.
March leaving Times Square headed to Wall Street for General Assembly... This is [sarcasm]brilliant[/sarcasm] on behalf of the NYPD. They are clearing tourists and shoppers from Time Square, a week before Xmas, in anticipation of the Occupy march coming thru... This just gets more and more [sarcasm]brilliant[/sarcasm]. The NYPD are now stationed at and "protecting" the bull on Wall Street, like it's their God... (From Sept 17, but excellent pic non the less) http://www.livestream.com/occupynyc

Unfortunately, I doubt it will have any effect at all. Just a couple more of the 99% that the 1% do not have to contend with. Reality sucks.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIqQ-o2lo1A"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIqQ-o2lo1A Retired Episcopal Bishop (and Vietnam veteran) George Packard, dressed in a purple cassock, was the first to mount a festive yellow ladder over the fence around Trinity’s lot, climb up, and jump down—a trespasser on the land of his own church. Father Mayer soon followed, as did Sister Susan Wilcox, along with a handful of other clergy and several dozen occupiers, who then called on others to join, to come in, to climb the fence and give them strength in numbers.
i would just like to point out that there are thousands of homeless people and drunks etc, who live in cities across the globe... ofcourse Occupy movements that occupy outside are going to be beacons of attraction... atleast we see these people as people... the media are using them as leverage in their attempts to demonize the movement... sad... just sayin'... AWESOME :daisy: it's moments like that... right there :2thumbsup:
This is the Bishop who led the climb over the fence, and his wife who was "kneed in the chest several times, crushed under the fence, and thrown" by NYPD. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Edbr5GNXT-g"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Edbr5GNXT-g
--This is rich: The NYPD is threatening to sue Occupy Wall Street if any police officers are injured in the line of duty. Benevolent Association President Ed Mullins told the New York Post: “In light of the growing violence attendant to the 'Occupy' movements across the country, particularly as evidenced by the recent events in Oakland, I am compelled to place these so-called 'occupiers' on notice that physical assaults on police officers will not be tolerated." "I am deeply concerned that protesters will be emboldened by the recent rash of violent acts against police officers in other cities. New York’s police officers are working around the clock as the already overburdened economy in New York is being drained by 'occupiers' who intentionally and maliciously instigate needless and violent confrontations with the police." - We must be doin something right* * what a joke* *
Wait..... It's the cops that are being violent.... If they hurt themselves in the act of being violent they will sue. That's rich.
Thanks for the head's up on this story, Junglejack! I would say I'm appalled by this but NYPD has taught me not to be appalled by anything they do. Anyone who doubts the unprovoked violent attacks on the part of NYPD against non-violent Occupy protesters need only look back through this thread to refresh their memory.
