I've listened to their discography, sufficient times to have right to an opinion.

and for the record, the only way to listen to most of them IS vinyl. it does sound different. if you believe it's in my head I can prove it to you (analogue is win)

Broadsword and the Beast is a sucky album from Jethro Tull.

Actually not only is U2 music overrated.

Bono is using his "Humanitarian caring" for PR and to sell records.

    He is a total phony.:puke:

Exactly. Hence the reason he will not address the real reasons for third world poverty and debt.

U2 has some great songs I really do like, but as a whole they are nothing special.

Same, I used to own every single album including the awful "Final Cut". I have listened to a few albums like Meddle on vinyl and I disagree with you. Of course it was more amazing, but then so is Bob Dylan's "Blood on the Tracks" and Taj Mahal's classics. The vinyl rule applies to any artist. I think Pink Floyd were a fantastically talented band that suffered from egomania and a need to create transcendent, space age style music and they lost sight of the dirty, subtle humanity that makes music closer to the heart.

I actually think that "last protest singer" does better in a digital format than vinylized

but that's because it was postmortem and on vinyl you can hear more of the edits made to the stock material.

Well, Pink Floyd is not my favorite band. But they are my favorite band that has achieved that amount of commercial success.

if it has to be a band, I'm going to have to say treetlight manifesto, even though the band changed entire between "everything goes numb" and "keasby nights" except for their frontman/songwriter, so I don't know if it counts as a band per se.

if it can be a single artist, harry chapin, hands down.

haha, funny, I disagree entirely. My favorite way to listen to Pink Floyd is the whole album through.

(and imo, Pink Floyd is the only classic rock mainstream band that isn't overrated, but actually good.)
