the inconsistency in my behaviour is my defence mechanism. When your an alcoholic your entire life is inconsistent. You become a drink. You become inconsistant because it's the only way you know how to deal with whats happening to you that you cannot control. You can control your alcohol intake and nothing else. I'm not excusing myself, just explaining. I really am only this way when challenged because it's the only way I know how to face it. That's why I was inconsistant. One minute I wanted to smash your face in. The next second I wanted to apologize and calm down. As I mentioned Hf's is my only outlet at this moment and it has helped me immensly. I just wasn't aware at the time how forums worked and that if someone thought something you did was stupid, they'd just say it. I also was proud of my 'accomplishment' and my guard was down. Anyways. Peace
RT is the place to come when you want to be brutally honest (at least in my case, I tend to stick towards tactlessness, so this is usually my hang out) there are a LOT of other forums here that cater to all kinds of different moods, and when you're feeling like something else, they can be good (stoner's lounge, even if you aren't stoned, can be a hoot) but, yeah, this is the bear pit, people hurt feelings here. it's not just "I was thinking about hydrangeas today, and that made me feel fuzzy inside" Good luck on your road to recovery. I am happy we worked this out.
the alcoholic part? eh, i don't know if i'd consider that an excuse. now this seems to be a good, honest explanation of why you were acting the way you did. i understand, and wish you the best with both your continued posting, and with the quitting drinking.
So anyways....people might have missed it. I was wondering what anybody thought of the big lebowski. I watched it again this afternoon and still think the cowboy at the end is stupid, but whatever. I liked the rest of it. John goodman is good at playing a mentally unstable vietnam vet. I really enjoyed the diner conversation about the toe. "You want a toe?! I'll get you a fucking toe!" Anyone else like it or dislike it? If so, why?
P.s - the character 'the dude' is based on a real guy who actually calls himself, and makes others call him the dude.
big lebowski was also an entertaining movie. i seem to remember it dragging on a bit at points, but overall it was pretty funny.
It's entertaining as hell, but I wouldn't call it "good". It's a million times better than Office Space though. A classic of its genre, which isn't the strongest genre, but still... It's not the kind of movie I can watch over and over again though.
There really is no point to the movie, which in a way is kinda cool. BSR-"A classic of its genre, which isn't the strongest genre, but still..." what genre do you think it fits in? I thought it was a stoner movie, but I would hate to put in the same genre as "half baked" and "harold and kumar go to white castle"....both are shit. I don't even really know what the movie is. I know what the premise is, and I think it's funny. I guess it doesn't really need to be anything more than that.
woah, countries besides america make comedies? who'da thunk the rest of the world even had an entertainment industry. :/
