i actually operated several pieces of heavy equipment when i was much younger. mostly when i was working for the railroad, but also a little bit before that too. and had a book called moving the earth, that was partially about how to get the best use out of them. i was more of a bucket man then a blade, but also both wire rope and hydraulic. most of my (whole one year, but it counts, right?) experience was on a stiff arm back hoe machine called a warner and swazey gradall. but there was also an old p and h crane with sometimes a magnet and sometimes a clam bucket.
There was a post on this forum of this missing young lady 16 or 17 . She was going to Bisby AZ an old mining town . I made the comment that I just could not see her running a front loader at a AZ mine . She turned up in cent CA some where . I dont know if they knew why she wanted to go to Bisby . desert rat
there's really not much to it. i would think a vast majority of people could learn it with a little practice. and if not, i'm sure a mine has plenty of washing that needs done too..
We had a ford tractor with a bucket on it , it was easy to use , just easy to tip over if you wernt care full . My point in that post on the missing young lady , what is in Bisby AZ ? It is an old AZ mining town with its hystory and charm , but why would a young lady want to go there over other cites ? Like L.A. , Holly Wood , or New York , ect. desert rat
In doing a quick web search there are a few things to do in Bisbee http://www.ghosttowns.com/states/az/bisbee.html http://www.bisbeepride.com/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bisbee,_Arizona http://www.bisbeeenclave.com/ http://gosw.about.com/od/arizonatravelguide/a/bisbee.htm We must get that young lady on this forum and state why she wanted to go to Bisbee . It would be my guess it was not to run a skip loader at a strip mine . desert rat
