I grew up in a small town and barefooting just wasn’t widely practiced in the late 50’s and 60’s. Maybe it was because of the introduction of tennis shoes. Further more it was just how I was raised.

I did wear shoes when I was a kid but when I had a chance to go barefoot I went barefoot I never like wearing shoes or socks it’s just not for me to wear shoes or socks being barefoot just feels awesome and I don’t have any foot problems. And I never going to wear shoes or socks ever again they just don’t feel comfortable to me

Yesterday I was walking barefoot in the grass along side one of the public parks blacktop walking paths when I came upon two older men. They saw I was barefoot and one of them commented that I was getting energy fro the earth and I agreed. Then they said earthing and grounding was good for you. I looked down and both had shoes on. I then challenged them to take their shoes and socks off and walk barefoot, and one of them did.

Guess it would depend on where you grew up also. I'm younger than you, but grew up in a pretty rural area. Barefoot kids weren't the majority, but you saw kids pretty often.

Most kids were outgrowing it, though, by the time we were 13 or 14.
