there were no white people in the middle east 2,000 years ago......maybe the christian faith could regain some of my respect if they portrayed him accurately as a middle-eastern looking person, instead of someone who looks like they are from Stockholm, Sweden. Pure Christian racism.
.............white people traveled and traded all over the region, in fact they found mummafied whites in northern china, which date back 5000 years.
Quote: .............white people traveled and traded all over the region, in fact they found mummafied whites in northern china, which date back 5000 years. yea, and there are tons of black people in Ore-gone were white people being born into poverty in the middle east 2,000 years ago to a virgin mother? Didn't think so.
Oh right, you were just throwing in a fun fact.....It seemed you were implying that he was, when we all know he was pure al-queida.
He was Jewish According to his promise at the beginning of this gospel, Luke provides an orderly accounting of how Jesus was brought up in accordance with Jewish religion, customs, rituals and practices. In keeping with Genesis 17:12, Jesus was circumcised when He was eight days old. During the ritual, He received His Name.
....................I really don't care what color he was, he could have been purple. It makes no difference, its the meaning of his words that people should care about.
If he was protrayed as middle eastern or black, the majority of Christians would likely refuse to worship him.
I don't think the religion would be nearly as popular if Jesus was portrayed as non-white...it would be some "pagan" sect........many christians are backwoods people who dislike people of color, and would not "degrade" themselves by bowing before anyone non-white.
..........I do not think it would have stopped it, a Roman emperor adopted the religion giving it a foot hold, with the power of a state it makes it hard to say no. It started spreading thru europe during the dark ages so people were more willing to accept a new religion, as it looked like there old ones were not working. Also alot of the european royalty liked to mirror the romans alot. With its promise of a happy after life, would make the poor, hungry, sick or what ever, think better things are to come. I do know what you mean though, and it is not limited to christianity all the religions change to fit the people they are trying to convert, makes it easier.
Jesus was likely very ethnic. What do creationists think about dinosaurs? They just there to test your faith or something?
.....................I guess thats what happens when you read a book 2000 years old. There are no answers to the modern questions.
