You obviously don't know anything about rap music....to say that eminem, The Game, Jay-Z, 2-Pac & Biggie are overrated....buddy you are out of your mind...first of all 2-Pac, Biggie, Jay-Z, Dre were the pioneers of mainstream hip hop...their lyrics were not about I've got more $$ than you, I bang more bitches than you, their lyrics were about their real lives and how the streets really were, what the hell do you think got 2pac n biggie killed.....not only were their lyrics deep into there personal lives but they spit 16 bars like its nobody's business......As for eminem & the game, there isn't anyone out there today that is as real as the game...he is one the rappers that really is a gang banger that was actually raised in the streets, let alone lyrically inclined, not many can spit like he can.....and eminem nobody in the right mind whether you like him or not can't say that eminem is overrated...1st of all he is the 1st white boy to make it in the rap game, lyrically there is no one that can touch eminem......anyone can make a beat that bumps...but his lyrics are so fucked up yet intertwined with his personal life......Jay-z I cant say lyrically he falls into the same category of the other, but he is absolutely one of the best producers out there....found a gold mine in Memph Bleek and Beanie Seigel...now Kayne West his former producer....as for his lyrics you cant fuck with him because well he is the fucking man, $10 mill in his pocket is like $100 in mine or yours...now Jay-Z is married to the hottest diva in the music industry Beyonce.....he owns Def Jam Records, R.O.C. and part of the New Jersey Nets...come on now


Overrated is all the bubble gum bullshit rap like anything south...yo look at my platinum teeth, my big rims they had to rent for the video...thats overrated BS...however for the most part I do agree if it is on the radio its garbage...pretty much any rapper that can sound good and tear it up on someone else's track but cant make their own album worth shit

jayz has a classic flow; not always consistent but hes been around and keeps it up.

game has the mos consistent lyrics i know and if you dont think so, you need to listen to what hes really saying.

snoop was originated the flow of a pimp. he will be remembered always for that.

Alright, let me clean up this thread a lil bit.

A wack rapper. It is closely related to a snitch rapper which I defined in a previous thread.

So that's a rap snitch. Now if you listed a rapper that is a snitch, chances are he's wack. Now Im not talking about bar for bar, but mainly subject matter. If their subject matter of music is snitching on themselves to glamourize themselves, then they're wack. period.

Most commercial rappers fall into this category. what's left is the raw underground shit, and the old school shit.

Dope new sounds like MF Doom and Immortal Technique, Killah Priest and Termanology are reviving real hip-hop. Them wack ass rap snitches killed her.

And theres always the old school, which is what I jam to nonstop. Wu-Tang Clan aint nothin to fuck wit, Nas It was written shit, and illmatic, and all that hot 90's shit like A Tribe Called Quest, Mos Def, Gangstarr, Dead Prez, Ghostface and Raekwon Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, and all the classic shit. Thats real hip-hop.

But for today, bullshit mainstream destroyed the elements of hip-hop. It forgot its culture and street essence. And rapping about black on black crime and niggas killing each other isnt part of the street essence. The wack rappers who rap about that make that music for suburban white kids, the largest part of their fanbase, and not the streets where they came from. Cuz real niggas dont wanna hear that bullshit. We want hip-hop. Dope beats, sharp lyrics, rugged sounds and creativity.
