sorry indie but i have one. it is my understanding and correct me if i am wrong but the top tax rate at the moment is $250k and if 70% were at that rate. (even taking into account for inflation.) i got to think its more that the tax rate changed and not as much the earning rates.
Indie HO hell for what seems like the four thousandth time – I don’t care if you agree with me or not, I’M JUST TRYING TO WORK OUT WHY YOU PROMOTE IDEAS YOU SEEM INCAPABLE OF DEFENDING FROM CRITICISM. Indie I have read all your old posts and that how I know you seem incapable of defend your ideas from criticism. What I’m trying to work out is why you are re-posting stuff that you know perfectly well you can’t defend from criticism? I mean I could understand you doing it if you were getting paid to but I don’t think any other rational person would do that.
Egg I’d gladly do it on PM as long as Indie stopped posting on the Politics site of course if he’s being paid to post stuff I’m not sure he’d want to do that.
It's unclear to me what you're trying to say or responding to that I might have posted. Could you please clarify?

Just a FYI for those who are complaining about the posts of Balbus and myself, Individual, I believe you can eliminate the appearance of MY posts by adding "Individual" to a block list found on the "User CP" tab.
The post was to balbus, you said something like you were done with the questions but then I had one for him.
Sorry, seeing my name mentioned, I thought it was directed to me. Still, I'm uncertain of what exactly you were questioning.
Grim, in what way is the idea of secession "nonsense"? Our country was founded on it. Were our founders full of nonsense when they suggested seceding from England? You'd think a people trying to cast off a government they do not agree with would be heralded as something noble, not "nonsense". Also, in what way would Texas not be able to survive on its own? They have the 15th biggest economy in the world, their own power grid, and are completely energy independent (unlike the US). They also only receive 94 cents back for every dollar of federal tax they pay in... This drops to 67 cents when u factor in that one third of the federal budget is deficit spending. By my calculations, Texas would not only "survive" without the federal government, they'd be much better off. As far as the "legality" of it. It's actually illegal for the federal government to prevent a state who wants to secede from doing so, not the other way around.
Oh my bad. I didn't see grims post and thought you meant for that post to be in the thread that's dedicated to that topic.
So here's Papa Johns stance in a nutshell... (it's at the end of the clip, and, sorry about the commercial) http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/tue-november-13-2012/post-democalyptic-world---whine-country Leave it to Stewart to get to the heart of the matter.
Because, as I said, texas is already a john-wayne-complexed fascist shithole. First of all, if texas leaves the union, the industry that texas has worked so hard to bring would be gone in a snap. Why? Not because of the companies (though, those too) but because of their employees. Everyone would drop texas like a hot potato because it's an untrustworthy state with a shaky legal system built on the good ol' boy system, as it is justice is not guaranteed to all, especially those of different colours, or anyone who might be related to someone who once pissed off the sheriff. The state is obsessed with violence, but it must be administered by the state, or by somebody related to an official of the state. Things are incredably corrupt in many places and ways. The state has a love affair with law enforcement and even while in the US, is becomming a police state. And the fact is, without the US to at least provide a sense of security, however false, nobody would want to live here. Oh, and no texas can not handle it's money. Texas crows about having a balanced budget, and yeah, it may be balanced at the moment, but there's a pretty large state debt, which is ENTIRELY FORBIDDEN by the state constitution. There is no if, and, or but, the constitution just says that you cannot put the state of texas in debt, and they have -- should they not be ALL immediatly removed from office? Texas has a LOT of federal infrastructure, such as military bases and government offices for branches of the sort that texas likes, like DHS and DEA. The stupidest texans point at that like it will protect us or something, but don't understand that it will be GONE if we leave the union. Also, if texas left the union, HOPEFULLY, mexico would take back what's theirs..... and you wouldn't see the federal government stopping it. In fact, trade wise, it would be great for the US.
