Years ago I used to have a $200 "overdrawn account" where up to $200 was covered if I didn't have money in the account...but that was well over 20 years ago. I never put a little piece of paper with IOU whatever (LOL) and deposited and cashed it out. That is hilarious.

The last couple of places I worked paid me with a check card. I couldn't and can't stand it; but, that's the way it was...no choice.

 

I remember him doing it a few times, but a really long time ago, maybe like 13 years along with writing himself cheques... lol

I can't see how he got away with it, now a days you'd be charged with fraud or something, and it wasn't even that long ago! But he always did pay it back... Maybe thats why

and overdraft would have been ideal, but i don't think he could get one cause of horrible credit...


Most of the places i've worked at force that 'direct deposit' on you... i prefer cheques... its exciting getting off work and opening up your cheque to see how much it is lol..

I have been applying for jobs...online, of course. Nobody will accept an application. When you get dressed nice to go apply, it almost kills them to look me in the eye and say "Go online." period...nothing else.

Anyway, I have been applying for cashier positions and to work in restaurants. Since being turned down - more than once - when I told the truth about going to college and having a simple possession...I have decided to lie about going to school and having the simple possession.

I HATE lying!!! However, I also want a damn job...and I'm not even applying for anything special or in management.

Since I would pass a drug test (for now ) I furthur have decided that if they want to cry and/or fire me for lying about those 2 things (going to college and simple possession), let them dig and find out. I won't be any worse off than I am now, which is broke and unemployed.

 

applying online sucks, but it's the way everything works these days. from the side of the employer it makes total sense, but when you're the one looking for jobs it can be frustrating. it gets depressing when it just seems like all of your abilities and experience is condensed into 1-2 pages of bullet points, and you get no chance to show them your personality unless you get called for an interview.

hot as shit out again today, but i have to venture out on my bicycle to pick up some groceries at the farmers market, some trail mix at bulk barn, and some replacement tubes for my bike tires in case i get a flat on our trip tomorrow.

we will be biking from burlington to port dover. taking a trail there that is about 100km long and should be about 5.5 hours of biking according to google maps. on the way back we're going to skip the trail and take the most direct route on the roads, which is about 80km or just over 4 hours according to google. should be fun. i'm packing lots of water, and i'm really, really hoping that this heat breaks tonight like the forecast predicts.

my neighbour had this old lady move in yesterday, a friend of hers or something. today i hear yelling outside my door so i go to investigate. 2 women there, plus my neighbour... one of the women is screaming at my neighbour.. shit like 'don't you talk to my 75 year old mother like that, you old bitchy cunty whore'.

i watched through the peephole to make sure nobody got violent, but no way i'm stepping out into the middle of that unless i have to.

plus, i don't like my neighbour.

so apparently the woman yelling at my neighbour was the daughter of an old lady who lives upstairs, the old lady and my neighbour were having a dispute about laundry or something (apparently this has happened before). i think that the daughter lives there as well, but not sure.

apparently my neighbour has called the police on the other woman though, saying that she pushed her with a laundry basket or something lol. it just kind of sucks because i was going to go and smoke a joint out back, but i don't want to walk to my door reeking like weed if the cops are going to be showing up across the hall.
