It is a state legal issue, not federal. Nevada has always been on a different page from the other US states when it comes to moral issues. It also likes to do whatever it takes to draw in cash-heavy California vacationers. Nevada only has legal prostitution in counties with relatively low population density. I have read this is because of potential difficulties for law enforcement in places like Las Vegas or Reno, where many more people would be participating. It may have just as much to do with lack of other economic opportunities in those outlying counties. New Orleans would probably have laws similar to Nevada if it were not for the fact that Baton Rouge is a conservative, Bible-belt city in its outlook. Pretty much all of Louisiana votes conservative, except for the coastal areas. New Orleans can trace its unique (by American standards) value system on its French heritage. I have no idea how Nevada got started down a different path. Any Nevada natives online that know the answer?
Oh I know, I just don't understand how there can be such a big difference in laws between state... It's kind of like the word "United" isn't applicable at times.
Brothels are a great place to have a couple of drinks.. if you think the casinos make a stout drink .. you ain't seen nothing yet.. it's also a very unique place to observe human behavior.
It's quite possible that I've banged more hookers than anyone else in this thread... so you know what I think.
