a lot of people don't realize that all the imported Mexican beer here is in fact manufactured by only 2 companies. Cracks me up when people are like "Corona sucks, it isn't real Mexican beer" as they swig their Pacifico.

Dos Equis Amber is actually pretty good. I don't get it as a first choice, but will if it's the best thing they have at a restaurant or something.

to the mexican beer stuff, first of all yeah corona is one of the shitiest Mexican beers though I can think of some worse for example pacifico

yeah budweiser is kind of popular here, mostly with the rich people that dont want to be mexican and feel any import is great, but peeple whove been drinking beer for a long time dont go near it, dont know if its the taste or the fact that its almost the same price a can as other six packs

also whoever said negra modela is good... its decent but not great it aint tops

lastly to what um I think zilla said about having to breweries technically there are three Modelo, Moctezuma, and Cuauhtemoc, though the fact that some beers come from the same companies doesnt mean they are brewed the same or taste the same, mostly they fight for sales mainly modelo and moctezuma as cuauhtemoc is affiliated with moctezuma, modelo owns the oxxos here and moctezuma the Extras I think, which are basically with the add of 7-eleven the only quickymart tipe stores.

and thats what I have to say about that

on a completely unrelated note I got annoyed today when I was walking down a mall and started watching jeopardy through the windows, they said this guy was wrong cause he missed an S at the end of a name but had no qualms giving the answer right to a guy who said Montezuma instead of moctezuma

edit: it isnt that corona isnt real mexican beer its just that it tastes horrible

That may be 'cuz Montezuma is an accepted spelling in the U.S.

Actually, there are quite a few variations:

Montezuma, Moctezuma, Moteczoma, Motecuhzoma, Moteuczomah.

Although, the different names would appear to refer to different folks...
