I don't think that's true. My dentist recommended I brush after sugary things, such as pop/beer, etc. She said at the very least drink some water, but she recommended brushing.
My dentist said to swish with warm water after drinking soda then wait to brush...it makes sense that it eats at the enamel. Soda is like the drink of satan to us dental-fanatics.
Yeah from what I understand that's what happens...the acidity weakens the teeth and the toothbrush just destroys them...
Yep, that's what dentists here all hammer into you. It seems to be really damaging. They all recommend swishing with water instead and don't brush for at least an hour. I took it to heart, think it kind of makes sense as well.
Asians have begun to move into our area and apparently dental hygiene is last on their lists of things to do I almost want to ask them if someone shit in their mouths Hotwater
I agree with lunarverse ,atleast swish with some water after consuming sugary stuff. BTW..I love that peter cellers parody Dr.strangelove
i developed gum disease when i was around 12 years old. when i turned 18 and was able to get away from my so called "parents," i got to reverse and stop the gum disease. the vast majority of people devlope gum disease from poor dental hygene and/or improper burshing and flossing. my gum disease, was caused by psychological stress, from my dyfunctional family. like i stated above; after i got away from my "parents" and their stress, the gum disease stopped by the time i was 21. i've not had any problems from bleeding or recdeceding gums since that time however, the damage had been done! 8 of my teeth had become lossen from the gum disease. a couple of years ago, i was at a bus stop and a group of redneck shitkickers drove up and started beating the shit out of a mixed raced couple who were waiting on the bus too. i jumped in to get the rednecks off of the couple. i got my glasses smashed but, worst of all, i got one tooth knock out. we were unable to find the tooth. that ruled out any chance at having the tooth re-inplanted back in my jaw before the tooth died. i brush my teeth at lest once a day. the most important time to brush and floss is after sleeping. when we sleep our bodly processes slow down; that is when the most bacteria and plaque is formed in the mouth. it is most commonly known as, 'morning breath.':ack2: here is a fact to gross you all out. that sticky substance that forms in the mouth that is called 'plaque.' starts it's formation in the sinus cavites. everyone has snot from their sinus cavites running down into their mouths all the time. when we are awake, our saliva washes out and kills most of the bacteria from the snot that gets into our mouths HOWEVER, when we sleep, there is a great deal less saliva being produced by our salivery glands therefore, the snot that drips into our mouths, stays around in our mouths almost all during sleep. that snot mixes with what little saliva is in the mouth to become a "super-bacteria breeding ground." when we wake up, our mouths are coated with the same boogers as are in our noses. that is why i always brush my gums, teeth, tounge, palate, and floss btween my teeth and under the gumline, to get all the snot and boogers, that form in my mouth during sleep out of my mouth. makes you think twice about kissing anyone who does not keep up their oral hygiene! uke:
Teeth are naturally an offwhite and some people even have naturally occuring yellow teeth. And I don't think crooked teeth are "unsightly" any more than weak chins or prominent noses. They're just another thing that makes a person's face unique.
Wow, I feel like I learned a lot from your post! haha Most important time to brush is before sleeping, I thought? Because plaque and crap build up in the mouth while sleeping
I agree, but then when little kids constantly come up to me to ask my why my teeth look so weird and why I show my gums when I smile... it makes me want to get some more work done. My teeth are the only thing that makes me feel insecure about my looks.
And somewhat grammatically incorrect. I tend to brush all of my teeth at once with my tooth brush, not just one.
How often do y'all floss? I used to do it everyday. Then I ran out of floss a few weeks ago. It's one of those things I never remember or think about picking it up when I'm out.
