Official records show that there have infact between TWO hippies here in recent times. One was in 2007, another in 2009. Needless to say, both were sent packing in record time.. :-/

Yeah, I would say it is.

Needy people = children born into poverty, people who get sick and can't pay their medical bills, people who lose their job and can't find another one, people born into poverty without many opportunities out, the mentally or physically disabled. .etc.

considering the vast number of people living in poverty in the world I think it's really lazy to jump to the conclusion you did.

Clean shaved, hard boiled city boy, atheist, drug free, convinced capitalist, put in 12 hour days at work, politically incorrect, meat eater, never been outside without sneakers on, and favor urban wear.

    Take your own conclusions.

Edit: I am for legalizing all drugs and prostitution. That's actually over and beyond the softcore legalization of pot and free love, which to me sounds as wishy washy and fence-riding as the rest of hippie culture.

Edit: Forgot to mention I'm looking into permits and owning a gun. But at least, I'm in an open relationship. Can I get my hippie cred, pleaz??

I went to wal mart the other day with no shoes, but I was at the beach getting crabbing nets.. I'm not sure if it's especially hippie to not wear shoes at or around the beach considering everyone does it

You know, I have a coworker who has a limp.

He developed MS years ago. Two years ago he lost his job. During that time he worked a series of temp jobs to support his family, but as he was unable to afford Interferon. Now he's got a job with healthcare again, and can afford the meds, but he'll always have that limp.

It's hard to say, but it seems to me that a high percentage of the newcomers are people who hate hippies. I don't like the trend.

The heyday for HF in terms of hippie spirit and site traffic was prolly about ten years ago. Many forums seem to have a peak of community spirit and traffic and then gradually decline or devolve into something other than the original intent. Even a hippie site can turn into something that seems more like military dot com or police dot com.

It does get kinda bizarre when people with names such as PeaceLoveKindness, on what is supposed to be a hippie-minded forum, immediately defend the police for putting about 20 slugs in a person and killing him for a non-violent probation violation and show no sense of compassion (except to the cops). It's like Tiny, the 600 pound lady at the circus.

I think it's not that easy being a ''real'' hippy these days. More people should just chill and try to enjoy the beauty of nature and be thankful for what they have-just trying to live simply. By Limiting material
world they could be more able to find their true selfs and relise u dont need much to be happy.

The problem is, real hippies wouldn't use computers in the first place.

Seems bogus to me but perhaps it lies in the details of how you would define a real hippie. I'm sure you can if you have this conviction.

If the 'hippie movement' started in 2010 I am sure nearly every single 'hippie' would use a computer.
