I think people who are "stable-minded" are deemed worthy to experiment in my book. It's always the person who's going through troubles that has a bad trip in my experience. There should be a bit of a screening process. If you got problems at the moment maybe you shouldnt be trippin'.

I've never really researched shrooms, now that I think about it. They're a powerful teacher in and of themselves and I've learned more from just tripping than I've ever learned from an internet forum.

I wouldn't put a man-made hallucinogen into my body without researching it first, but for some reason since the first time I tripped shrooms I've had a trust of shrooms that I've never felt the need to validate or invalidate through research.

this. you can learn the chemical composition of a hallucinogen, you can learn how it effects others, you can learn about its potential for opening your mind, but in the end hallucinogens are a journey unique to the user. If someone is searching for something, they can find it in hallucinogens without ever reading a word written about it on the internet.

Sir, the possibility of successfully navigating a d-lysergic acid diethylamide trip, is approximately 3720 to 1...

    About right, I think.

But I think that's including people who just think of them like "drugs".

The people who think about marijuana, cocaine, heroin, LSD, and methamphetamine.

They're simply reckless and stupid, and they may know that acid makes you "trip out", but I'm still not sure I'd consider them psychedelic users.

    If that makes sense.

I hear you Roor, alot of fuckers just take the acid to get fucked.
While others choose their set and setting wisely and enjoy the trip for what it is. They open their minds to something more than just "getting fucked up".

Knowledge is key. Especially in regards to the true purpose of psychedelics in the educated user, which is knowledge and the pursuit of whatever it may be.

    For sure.

But I don't think you have to be an educated user to be a respectable one.

I think it's BETTER if you know everything you can learn about a drug before you take it.

But I've known a lot of people who have taken LSD or similar drugs, often after consulting me or someone like me, and generally under some form of guidance from that consultant, who simply knew generally what it would feel like at that dose, and that no physical harm could come of them. Then they usually either decide it's not for them, or are so fascinated they go learn more on their own.

I only occasionally partake in psychedelics mainly due to their scarcity in my social circle. However, I always wonder how someone could NOT appreciate the beautiful subtleties and amazing shifts in thinking patterns they offer. I don't know how a person could just take them for the hell of it, so to speak. And I use a wide range of substances, so my observation is pretty objective as I am not a psych-only nor a never-take-psychs person.
